Originally, the release date was 8/15/2006, to coincide with the release of Clerks 2. However the release date for Clerks 2 has changed it's expected that the DVD release date will change as well. Here's a sample of preliminary artwork... See more artwork and additional detail by clicking the above picture or you can click HERE!!-------------------------- The first one was hilarious. Kevin Smith has so many great stories I could listen to him forever. This one will hopefully be great.

Here is some more news about Evening Harder. And remember you can use this thread to post about any DVD rumors that you don't feel need their own thread. "Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced An Evening With Kevin Smith 2: Evening Harder which will arrive on a 2-disc DVD set November 7th. Starring acclaimed indie film director Kevin Smith and his trusty sidekick Jason Mewes, this unrated and uncensored DVD takes viewers to London and Toronto for a no holds barred Q&A with college students about filmmaking, pop culture and general questions that get to the bottom of who Smith “the person” is. As well as those two stand-ups, the set will include a Toronto: Limo Ride featurette in which Kevin Smith hits the streets of Toronto, determined to answer the all-important question, “What is Canadian cuisine?”, and a London: Man on the Street featurette where Smith sidekick Jason Mewes tries out various pick-up lines on the ladies in London."www.dvdactive.com/news/releases/an-evening-with-kevin-smith-2.html

We're surprised it hasn't been more widely reported that the National Film Preservation Foundation (USA) has recently announced they're working on a fourth entry in their wonderful Treasures from American Film Archives series for 2008: Treasures IV: The American Avant-Garde Film, 1945-1985. With funds from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, this 2-disc box set will include animation, nature and still life films, portraiture, underground narratives, dance films, works of social engagement, and city symphonies culled from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Anthology Film Archives, the Museum of Modern Art, the New York Public Library, and the Pacific Film Archive. (And the NFPF is still on track to release this fall's 4-disc box set, Treasures III: The Social Issue Film, 1900-1934.) While it's hard to imagine a more elaborate avant-garde release than Image Entertainment's Unseen Cinema (2005) box set, the NFPF's track record suggests it could offer something just as essential. - D.C.

Poltergeist SE Sees the Light [/b] Source: Ryan Rotten, MovieholeJuly 19, 2007
This writer has purposely held out on getting Warner's snap-case edition of Tobe Hooper's Poltergeist (found at your local Wal-mart for nine bones or less!) in hope that the next time I see the film, it's in a pristine special edition.
Well, that may be happening sooner than later. Moviehole, via Poltergeist fansite Poltergeistiii.com, was tipped off that New Wave Entertainment (a DVD production house here in L.A.) is harvesting interviews for a proper Poltergeist: Special Edition 2-disc DVD.
JoBeth Williams, Craig T. Nelson and Zelda Rubenstein are expected to appear along with a ton of other "real ghost hunters"-like supplements. One can hope the producers of this disc will dig a little deeper into the actual film than spend their time talking to trackers of supernatural phenomena.
end of article.

Since this are for future DVD releases, here are two: Grindhouse: Death Proof - $22 - which I bought yesterday. No one's talking about this release at all, it's weird, although it is #45 on Amazon.com's best seller list. Fantastic Planet - $19 - Looks like the first R1 release this movie's ever got. Not going to get it myself, though, because I don't really care for surreal animation all that much, but I know criterionmaster would be really pleased to check this one out.

I forget how many of you crazy cats with fedora hats like this series, but I thought I'd mention it. Take a little dust off the forums.

I can't wait to snatch that up. That's definitely the cheapest legal way to get it, I suppose.

I can't wait to snatch that up. That's definitely the cheapest legal way to get it, I suppose. Pretty much. I had a bit of a conflict seeing as I bought all of the original DVDs... but it'll be nice to see if there's a visual quality difference. I'm pretty sure these have 5.1 surround sound, so, better audio.
