This is a fairly popular subject among online artists, where usually the great ones try to pump out an excellent piece of work in a short amount of time; almost always in one sitting. Here's one guy that will impress the hell out of you: You don't need me to tell you that this guy is good at what he does, and plenty of artists can do just as well as he can (not to knock him at all, just saying, it's not impossible). Well, you can kind of see how he does it, but one thing I can see that he does in terms of colors is having lighter and darker shades contrast against each other, like he does with the hair. I might post some more, you could post others if you want, but I figured this might do well in its own thread.

This is pretty nifty stuff, but I prefer old fashioned, brush and paper painting, to digital painting.

You might like a speed painting featuring non-digital mediums: ketchup and french fries. I know, it was on the front page of YouTube, but you gotta admit, speed paintings can be really cool.

In the painting with ketchup and french fries, he basically paints a picture featuring Ronnie McDonnie and the guy from Super Size Me out of ketchup, using french fries and a couple fries for the mouthful of fries. I'm not as great as any of the speed painters/drawers above, but I can pump out some decent art in a speedy amount of time. Oekaki-esque GroupBoard pretty much requires the elements of speed painting, so I have some experience.
