I'm not really interested in seeing the video myself. I don't need proof.
I was listening to some random talk radio today, where they were interviewing a guy who worked as a nurse for Saddam shortly after he was executed. The guy said that Saddam was actually quite agreeable, in that he wasn't overly spoiled or complained much. However, another guy called in who was like "okay, I just listened to the last half of that, but I'm going to spend a couple minutes reminding you that Saddam was a really really bad guy, okay?"
It was just really weird of the guy because the radio hosts were just trying to find out what kind of person Saddam was, and this guy took it all out of context thinking that they were Saddam supporters or some shit. The reason the radio hosts were doing this, as the most intelligent one in the buch said, was because "I'm a Jew, but if I were given the chance to interview Hitler, I would." (Not an exact quote.) His reasoning was that it would give us a chance to understand what kind of people the Hitlers and the Saddams were, so that way we can identify future Hitlers and Saddams before they rise to power.

often the most evil are the ones among us, incognito, outwardly no worse than you or I. I was watching this thing on the History Channel about Hitler's home movies from his mountain retreat...this evil man who murdered millions of innocent people spent his days enjoying fancy lunches, schmoozing with the ladies, and watching Gone With the Wind and Mickey Mouse cartoons. the point is that he thought that the evil he was doing was good because of his personal philosophies, and because of this, he's outwardly no different than anybody else. Now that's what's terrifying about evil.

That reminds me of a movie I haven't seen, but have kind of wanted to see for a while. Downfall / Der Untergang. Most people seem to like it, and from what I've heard, it kind of gives a "new" insight into this man who wronged so many people (well, "new" as in an insight you'd never hear in American schools).

Downfall was easily one of the best pictures of last year, and is also the best depiction of WWII since Das Boots. Bruno Ganz doesn't just recreate Hitler, he kind of provokes a greater fear and hatred in all of us as we watch the dying old man in his bunker, waiting out the war in his mind.
Touching and epic.
