For my purposes, Timesplitters is likely the greatest game ever made. It's a first-person shooter loaded with blood, violence, titillation and sick humor. Though there is a Story Mode, which allows you to complete goals and follow a plotline, my favorite part of the game is the Arcade Mode. This is basically a kill anything that moves free for all. There's a large cast of strange characters available to go up against, including The Gingerbread Man, Duckman Drake and Jungle Queen. They all have their own personal screams of agony when you shoot them or set them ablaze with a flamethrower. The violence is very sick and twisted. There's one weapon called the Injector that causes the target to explode in a shower of gore. There are regular weapons as well, like machine guns, pistols, sniper rifles and rocket launchers if you prefer some degree of realism.
Timesplitters is a masterpiece of surreal sadism and carnage. I laugh everytime I shoot Duckman Drake with the flamethrower and he goes running around quacking like a pissed off Donald Duck. This is a hilarious, exhilarating game . It probably shouldn't be so funny, but I've played it hundreds of times and it never stops being entertaining.

I love the timesplitters games because it is enjoyable on so many levels. The charactors are fun, the levels are fun, the music is entertaining, and the game overall is great. I think it is better than other games becausethis can please anyone. Most games center around on area and one person. Timesplitters, on the other hand, is about different people in different places. One moment you are in a russian dam, the next in 1930's chicago. In my opinion, the Timesplitters series is one of the best games out on the market.

I absolutely agree. There is so much fun and creativity put into Timesplitters that it always seems fresh. I play it almost everyday. For guns, babes, death, destruction and unbridled madness, few games can match Timesplitters.

Really? I thought the series was pretty forgettable... but thats just me. I played Timeplitters 2 on the xbox years ago and felt that it lacked substance, had clunky controls, ai was mediocre, the world felt real static and unnatural (regardless of the time period or setting). If a few of the only merits of this game include varied settings, odd quirky characters, and large amounts of violence, there are plently of other games out there that offer that as well as much more substance and quality. However, dont get me wrong. It wasn't THAT bad, a couple of the redeeming features exist (atleast in the second) like co-op. Overall I thought the series was pretty forgettable and felt that the plot really wasn't too coherent/really didnt matter too much... Future Perfect, I haven't played nearly as much, however based off what I did play it left me with a feeling of "much to be desired".

I don't require too much from video games. Since I'm entertained by setting duck people on fire, my standards are likely not the same as yours. If I played other video games, which I don't (except Civilization), maybe I would agree with you. All I can say for myself personally is that Timesplitters is the only shooter I will ever need to play (though I do like old school Doom.)

I bought Civilization IV a couple of months ago. It's way different than III. I need to start playing it seriously, though, because I've been neglecting it lately. I'm not sure how I feel about the new religion thing.
