This is one of the best comedies ever made. I can't get enough of it. I wish I could afford this version, it looks very sweet.

Posted on The Hollywood Saloon: The seminal spoof rock band Spinal Tap is due to make a reunion appearance at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York tonight (Wednesday) with a new 15-minute film describing their lives since the original This Is Spinal Tap mockumentary was released in 1984. The Associated Press reported on Tuesday that the original band members, guitarist Nigel Tufnel (played by Christopher Guest), singer David St. Hubbins (Michael McKean) and bassist Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer), are also due to perform at Wembley Stadium in England as part of the Live Earth concerts on July 7. In an interview, director Marty DeBergi (Rob Reiner) said, "They're not that environmentally conscious, but they've heard of global warming. ... Nigel thought it was just because he was wearing too much clothing that if he just took his jacket off it would be cooler." Tap Trivia: For anyone who is curious...back in 1991 when Tap made thier latest return, put out an album and went on tour (I saw 'em live in San Francisco and they were awesome!) a key to the bad regaining the rights to their creation is that they would have to perform as TAP in character every 5 years in order to maintain their ownership of the property and characters. So that's why you see a Nigel Tufnel commercial pop up and the endless streams of comeback tours. I'm guessing this new venture will help keep TAP alive for years to come. This and more can be discovered on Criterion's long out-of-print DVD that includes a commentary from the band out of character -- the only instance I'm aware of. Welcome back boys -- we sure missed ya.

YES! So good, the Tap is the best. I hope they release the fifteen minute documentary somehow. Possibly on a Criterion re-release...
