I agree. A fantastic horror film. Hopkins delivers one of the best performances ever.

Far from one of the greatest films ever, but certainly a great film. I prefer Manhunter, though. By a margin. It has so much more attitude and style. The Silence of the Lambs criterion? Hmm, well, I guess it's fair.

Growing up, I thought Silence of the Lambs was a cheesy yet really scary 60s horror movie, that the C-Man would probably call brilliant, about the murders of children in a village with lambs and stuff. Maybe the murders were even caused by lambs. I don't know, it could still be about that (I still need to watch it for the first time... ), but I doubt the movie is about what I described above, knowing kind of what it's about.

You aren't completely wrong, and you should definitively check it out; The film is about a man raping these poor lambs, and you feel kind of sorry for him because he's such a quiet person and all. The lambs makes this horrible sounds while he's at them, so he kills them, just to be sure nobody finds out what he's doing. Then this woman come to the farm to investigate, but she and the "lamb-killer" starts making love to each other and a dangerious game begin...

Also available from the 30th January will be the Hannibal Lector Collection Giftset - a three-disc package that includes Silence of the Lambs, along with Michael Mann's Manhunter and the Ridley Scott directed Hannibal. This will retail at around $29.98. As this is a three-disc collection, we can only assume that only disc one of the Silence of the Lambs collector's edition will be included.

Hmm. I have a two-disc already (I think it is two-disc, at least. Got a bit unsure right now), so I won't be getting this. The cover was ok. I don't really know how much I liked it, but at least it was nicer than the criterion-cover. I just looked over my words, and thought: Wouldn't that have been a fantastic film!

Yeah, the Criterion cover looks like it just took them a couple minutes in Paint to make. Scribble out a butterfly, stick a screenshot here, a screenshot there, and some text and you're done. This style can work out, but in this case, it just does not look impressive. Battle-in entry for Worst DVD Cover?
I have the one-disc widescreen special edition, which surprisingly enough actually features a decent amount of extras. I probably won't spring for this two-disc thinger, unless when I watch it (still a ways off, unfortunately), I'm completely amazed by it. I'm expecting it to be good, but not amazing, at least in my opinion.

I hate that cover so much. Almost as much as the Prestige cover.

Take out the small picture of Foster in the dark with the hand coming up behind here, move Hopkins' picture down somewhere and then I would love the cover.

I spent about five minutes trying out that idea of yours: I didn't do really great with that skin patch, but I know I didn't try at all with the blue parts. Don't look at it too long, it's just a sketch. Still looks kinda bad, disregarding my quick efforts but just on how it looks alone, but it looks better. The screenshots don't work well on the background, that's the thing.

Maybe no Hopkins eyes at all or something, but yeah, it is looking better.

It definitively looks better, but yeah, the screenshot(s) doesn`t really do good in front of the background. What about some kind of a frame around the picture(s)?

I think the Hopkins eyes look good. Other people can modify the image as well... (In Paint and such.)
