Masterpiece! W.C. Fields is amazing in this film. This is one of the top 5 best comedies ever made. If only the film was longer, it's only 72min.  |

I wanted to like this film so much but it did nothing for me. It reminded me of Family Guy (not that I am saying this is anywhere near as bad as Family Guy) in that the jokes were hit or miss and they only hit about 1/3 of the time. W.C Fields was funny but a lot of the comedy was dated and not really funny to me. When I watch a slapstick film I should be rolling on the ground but this was just “eh.” Not to say there weren’t some good parts like the end car falling about scene. But really it didn’t do anything for me. I want to hear some opinions on this since it is regarded as a classic.  |
