Nice try. The film is too good. I was lucky enough to snag it before it went OOP sealed for 23. The film is a masterpiece. The "Pressure Drop" scene is one of my favorite scenes ever.

The Harder They Come (rewatch) 10/10 I really forgot how good this film actually was. The Jamaican dialects are so hard to understand that you have to watch the film with subtitles. But ten minutes into the film, you don't even need the subtitles anymore because you have gotten so used to the dialect. Thats just the starting point of the many great things about this film. The soundtrack is not only one of the top 5 best soundtracks of all time, but it is also one of the top 100 albums of all time period. The main performance of Jimmy Cliff is mind-blowing, he just totally carries the film. The plot goes from conventional from ingenious about halfway through the film and the direction is outstanding in some places. Overall, I loved this film and it has earned a spot in my top 30.

I watched this with you and completely agree. This would come up in any talk of best soundtracks ever. The "Pressure Drop" scene is mind-blowing, I don't know what about it just blows me away, it's so playful and the song, mixed with the images, just gets me so excited. One of my favorite scenes in a film, "I'm gonna shoot ya, blah!"
Also when Jimmy Cliff is recording "Harder They Come" in the studio that is also a contender for favorite scene. It is such a good song. Plus the ending is so clever.
