PART ONE:
Beautiful, I am blown away by the film. Perfectly shot with some of the best close-ups ever put on film. The acting is great and unique. They are very over-the-top and they over-articulate words, it’s just amazing to watch. The film is lighted differently than I have seen, sometimes you can’t even see actors eyes you see their chin or nose, but it works perfectly. The plot did get somewhat confusing as characters are coming in and out without being named but as the film went along it became a little clearer. Like I said some of the best cinematography I have ever seen. While there are some things that are bad in the film (sound, a little confusing, etc.) it still gets a ten for some of the most beautiful and striking images I have ever seen. I look forward greatly to the sequel (Ivan the Terrible, Part 2) and I am wondering how it turns out with only two parts of a story original suppose to be a trilogy. This will blow you away!

Man, we were watching a history channel doc on Ivan today, and they played some of the first film in it. It looks fuckin' fantastic. Do they have it at our library Dan?

No, sadly they don't. I was able to catch it on TCM a long time ago. It is really great, although it can be a little boring at times, definitely check it out, you will probably like it more than me.
What class did you watch that documentary for? I know we are learning about him in two different classes at the same time.
