At first I thought this was going to be a chore. It was a 3 hour+ French film from the 40’s that, to tell the truth, looked boring as hell. Well this might have been the biggest film surprise of my life. The film is separated into two parts, “The Boulevard of Crime” and “The Man in White.” The film is about 4 men who love one woman. It sets each character up in her life and show how that man falls in love with her. The story is simple but also complex. To end the film the way they did could throw people off but for me it was just the perfect way to do it. I didn’t want it to end like most love stories do. The stories are paced so well that it felt less than two hours in length. Just a beautiful, epic film to look at because of all the set designs, cinematography, costumes. All the performances were insanely good. I mean this is a perfect film. I cannot recommend this enough.
