Very good film. It's only flaw IMO is that in some parts it is alittle two artsy with its shots. But other than that it is an amazing film. The two leads are really good. Plus this has an amazing DVD release. Both discs jam packed with cool stuff. What does everyone else think about the film?

I liked it. 9.5/10. From what I've seen of Chungking Express, I think I'm gonna like that one better, unless it goes completely downhill.

I would not go that far. You still might like this one better.

Excellent, but I think Wong perfected the idaes he had here in 2046, which shoudl definitely be added to teh Criterion Collection.

I'm a huge fan of his work. In the Mood for Love is work of art. I don't think that it's too artsy. Actually the cinematography here is much more subdued than most of Wong's other works, which Chris Doyle was the only DP in. The only thing I didn't like about this was how Su stubbornly refuses every advance by Chow even though her marriage is loveless and her husband is unfaithful to her. The theme of forbidden love isn't new to Wong, Fallen Angels had the same theme, though that film didn't focuse on this theme.

Yeah, I didn't think the film was too artsy, just that it bordered that line, at least for me. The term artsy is subjective though so my idea and yours are probably different. I need a re-watch on the film to tell for sure. I have been meaning to check out Fallen Angels myself. All I have seen is this and Chungking Express, both great films.

Fallen Angels works as an excellent companion piece to Chungking Express as 2046 does to In The Mood For Love.
Can't wait for My Blueberry Nights. I hope it doesn't suck.
