This film is probably one of the most hard films to watch. Not because it isn't a great film but because the performances are story are so draining. Rowlands gives one of the best female performances ever in this film. And Falk is highly underrated and almost gets zero credit for his great performance. One of the best films of all time.

A Woman Under the Influence (John Cassavettes; 1974)

My first exposure to Cassavettes was a very good exposure. I loved every minute of this film. Some say it is excruciating to watch, but I disagree. While it is sometimes hard to watch this woman go crazy, I do like spending time with these characters. Peter Falk and Gena Rowlands give amazing performances. Especially Falk for me. I loved watching his character, Nick almost go crazy as he watches his wife do the same. The film was long, and appropriately so. It really lets you sink into this family's world, and by the end, I nearly had a tear in my eye. It was the perfect way to end a film like this. I will say no more, but if you haven't seen A Woman Under the Influence, I suggest it without reservation.
