This film is very unique. It's like a B-horror plot given the art house treatment. It's not really scary but very atmospheric, surreal, poetic, even beautiful. The face graft scene is disturbing yet compelling. The main characters are well developed. The DVD has a beautiful transfer as well.

You didn't by any chance watch the film on the disc, Blood of the Beasts, did you?

I saw the movie at a club screening, so I didn't see it. Heard it's a repulsive documentary about a slaughterhouse. You saw it?

No, I haven't, but really want to. I heard from some people that it is one of the best features Criterion ever put on a DVD. Whether that is true or not, I will have to find out. I'll probably give this disc a rent though, since it sounds like you liked the film.
