Episodes
This may be my favorite season of the show so far. I mean every episode is a classic. Listen to some of the ones in this set: Homer eats and insanity pepper and has a hallucination of Johnny Cash as a fox, Mr. Sparkle episode where Homers face is on a Japanese soap box, Frank Grimes episode, Homer boxing with Moe as his coach, Millhouse’s parents get divorced, and TONS more. This may be The Simpsons at there very best.
episodes, including:
• Treehouse of Horror VII
• You Only Move Twice
• The Homer They Fall
• Burns, Baby, Burns
• Bart After Dark
• A Milhouse Divided
• Lisa's Date With Density

Packaging
Simpsons sets have gone threw a few package changes over time. Season’s 1-5 were packaged excellent but when they announced that season 6 would be in a flimsy, oversized, plastic Homer head I almost had a heart attack. Luckily for me (and I am sure many other fans) they included and option to order a regular box threw the mail but, alas it still had its problems. Now you had to take the inside of the Homer head (the disc part) and slide it down the top into the new box. The problem with this is the rest of the sets went in from the side (so I am nitpicking but it still bothers the hell out of me!). Now for the next season we hear we will now have the option to pick a Simpson family member head case or the regular (good) cases. So with season 7 we are back to the good ol’ cases: The four disc digipak with great artwork and a little episode booklet.

Features
Simpsons sets have really set the standard for TV show on DVD sets. They have consistently been great. I will talk about each feature separately:
Commentary Tracks: This is quite possible my favorite feature in the history of DVD. The are always excellent and in some cases as good as the episode itself. Various people comment on the episodes, show runners, artists, cast, and special guests. These are a blast to listen to and worth the price of the set alone.
Deleted Scenes: This is a Simpsons fan gold mine. For someone like me who has seen EVERY single episode of The Simpsons before this never before seen stuff is great. Some of the jokes don’t work obviously, but it’s just a joy to see this stuff. In fact some of the stuff is pure comedy gold. The commentary on these explains why the stuff was cut and other things and it’s very interesting to hear their thought process and how they decide what should be cut. Around 20 minute’s worth of footage here.
The Simpsons House Featurette: This is a short little featurette that talks about the real Simpsons house and the contest they had to give it away. It’s pretty cool to see some footage of the house and it’s a nice little piece.
Matt Groening Introduction: I always love these because when I watch them it makes me want to get a huge bowl of cereal and 12 pack of Dr. Pepper and sit down and have a nice Simpsons marathon. It’s always a great way to start of the set.
Illustrated Commentary and Animation Showcases: This is a great feature because you can see some sweet drawings. It’s interesting to see all the original character designs and such. The commentaries are done by the animators where they are able to draw on the screen. Cool feature that are really good listens.
Easter Eggs: Haven’t found any yet but Matt Groening says they are somewhere. Please tell me if you find any.

Image/Audio
Much better than on TV obviously but I am not the best judge on image/audio. It sounds great to me though.

Overall
If you enjoy Family Guy buy this set and find out why you enjoy Family Guy, because they stole their jokes. It is the standard of not just cartoons but of shows. I would take this show over ANY movie. If you have any sense of humor at all do yourself the favor and buy this set. You won’t regret it!
