sorry if im posting in the wrong bit but does anyone know how much it is extended by? or is that just a lie to sell it?
I liked the film and wnat to see it again, this seeming like the option to pick...
I'm talking about the 3 disk version that says 'extended' btw, yet it doesn't say by how much, if at all...

If I remember correctly, when the news broke, they said about five to ten minutes. Probably puting the scene where Black is directing Anne on the beach and extend a few scenes here or there. I haven't seen it though.

Moved this thread over to DVD Reviews section. I thought it would be extended by much more, I wonder if they took anything out?

New info! I quote from the UK edition of Q magazine: 'Although heralded as an "epic" when it was released in 2005, director Peter Jackson presumably felt it was not quite epic enough. With 230 new FX shots, 40 minutes of deleted scenes and a film that now runs to nearly three and a half hours, this is the mightiest Kong ever.' Sounds good

Oh! Well, that's odd. I wasn't one of the people that thought the film was too long, but I don't think it needs that much extra.
