The man is a fucking genius. I have never seen a director make a film in the way he is able to. He is able to get such real and believable acting out of his actors. His films feel so much like documentaries. He is one of my favorite directors because of the way his films turn out and his direction of his actors. If you haven't seen one of his films I encourage you to do so. I am still looking forward to many of his films.

I just watched another masterpiece from Cassavetes, Opening Night. Truly amazing experience with one of my favorite scenes ever at the end. Rowlands and Cassavetes performances were great. It’s a shame Cassavetes doesn’t get any credit for his acting, which I think is great. It’s even more of a shame Cassavetes’ work was never appreciated as much as it should have been and still isn’t appreciated enough.

I have seen another masterpiece from Cassavetes, Faces. And once again he shows off his talent for directing actors and his great experimental shots. This film is the best I have seen so far from him. Everyone please just go out and see it! No one on this whole forum has anything to say about this master?

I watched another film and I have started to realize this man can do no wrong. Every film I have seen from him is a 10. I am just blown away by Child is Waiting. Honest, heartbreaking, and true. Just like all Cassavetes he gets amazing performances from anyone he works with. This time it was mentally challenged kids. If you get the chance you must see this film.

Sounds good. The only thing I've seen from Cassavetes is his preformance in Rosemary's Baby. Unfortunalty no directionwork...
I hope to buy his 5-film Box cheaper than in store on Ebay soon.

You ever see a movie called BIG TROUBLE? I didn't realize before, but I've seen this Cassavettes film, and boy does it suck. Run-of-the-mill mainstream comedy with Albert Brooks. And it was his LAST film. That makes me sad.

Have you seen it? It's terrible. Cassavettes admitted it was terrible!

Watched Gloria and it is probably his most accessible film, and least "confusing." (If that’s the right word) So if you haven't seen any from this man this may be the place to start, you still get all the great performances and shots from a Cassavetes film but with an action film plot. Worth a strong look!

I didn't bother to look it up when you originally said it but you must be mistaken because Albert Brooks isn't in the film (not that I am doubting you have seen the film). From what I hear it was just made so he could get money to fund another project and that it has none of his touches at all. Also that it shouldn't be called his LAST film, Love Streams (which is a masterpiece so far) should because it is much more Cassavetes-like than Big Trouble.
