Yeah, but yesterday there were tons of posts it seemed. Make some new threads, post in the criterion threads you have seen, people will come. And search flixster, forums, other places for film fans and bring them over here. If you are stuck on the computer you could do these many things, I tend to do them when I am bored. Feel free everyone to make tons of threads, in fact I got a cool idea for one....

Maybe the forum was dead yesterday because I was at an awesome LAN Party. ;D


I brought my box and LCD over. As usual, I'm the only one who doesn't bring a laptop, but I don't have any networking problems if I bring enough cabling. Sure, having a laptop is nice, but when you forget your firewall is up, it can cause two hours worth of networking problems, which happened to two people. Then we spent another two hours playing one round of MegaMek, followed by eating, some Nexuiz and a weird card game that no one could figure out, of all things.

It went well. No piracy was exchanged, because my friend and host had one too many close calls in years past. Not as many laughs were exchanged the first time I used the handle Lag ("I just got killed by Lag!"), but it went better than when I went by not_ie ("Who's not ie?" "I'm not ie.")

This is about the eighth LAN Party I've participated in, and my friend hosts them about four times a year.

i'm staying put at the deux, and i think everyone else is, too. it's prettier and has a hell of a lot more stuff to do than its predecessor does. i might visit the original for old time's sake once in a while, though...

Because this is the Random thread, I'll make this annoucement here:

I started classes today. My college (no longer community college!) had a problem with their systems, so half the students (including me) thought classes started next week. So I missed two classes. But let's go over how these classes look, just for references sake.

One class is 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM twice a week. A little late, but not too bad. My other two classes share the same time slot and room, but are on different days. The time?

5:30 PM to 9:50 PM.

Yeah.


That's not the longest class I've ever taken - 7:30 AM to Noon - but, still, yeah.


And, these are 300 to 400 level classes. In other words, Junior or Senior college level classes. In other words, I won't be able to watch a movie or maybe even two and then talk about other movies for the rest of the day, like I've been doing for the past few... months. I have this odd fascination with this forum, despite its flaws, so I'll still post here when I can.
