I will post what I wrote about in my blog because this is still how I feel about the show overall.
"The Simpson’s if someone hasn’t seen it, is a show that was started by Matt Groening. The show started with little one minute shorts on the Tracy Ullman Show, but then moved in 1989 to a regular series with the classic Christmas Special. The show became so popular, as the first season of oddly drawn character went along, slowly shaping the way the show would be forever. Most people back in the day probably thought this was just going to go away, but it didn’t because the show was actually well written and had some depth. The stories could be funny at one moment then heart breaking in the next. The episode could be about Homer, Bart, Lisa, or even one of the many great supporting characters like Krusty the Clown, Sideshow Bob, or Moe. The show went on topping itself with each season having a uncountable number of special guests doing ever story you could think of and having all the best jokes (hence the episode of South Park "The Simpson’s Did It"). Many so called people who grew up with the show started to dislike and continue to dislike the show to the day, season 17. But I truly grew up with the show, born just around the time the series started and I have seen every single episode so I think I know when the show is good or not. Seasons like 10-12 are the worst in my opinion but that doesn’t mean they are totally bad, there are still some classic episodes in the series, but people treat it like the show was ruined and never could become better again. But now on season 17 I think this is so far the best season in recent years, the episodes are still hilarious and great fun to watch.
I will continue to watch anything with the Simpson’s in it forever. And I encourage all of you to do the same. Also if you like The Simpson’s stay away from Family Guy (I mean its funny but come on the episodes don’t hold up and all the jokes have been done. I got an idea lets take every joke from all the great shows and pack it into one episode. That doesn’t take talent and the characters are almost an exact rip-off of The Simpson’s. But Seth McFarlane does have voice talent) and watch some Futurama another great done by Matt Groening!
Just to point out The Simpson’s DVD sets are the best TV show sets out there and everyone should pick them up, they just released season 7, and season 8 is due out in the upcoming months. D’oh! You’re babbling incoherently, make sense man!"
The simpsons is an amazing show that I believe will go on to be studied in the future! Anyone else on here feel the same way about the show as I do? Does anyone on here like the show or used to? Does anyone like Futurama or Family Guy more? Does anyone have the DVD's? And I will post a review for all the new episodes I see.

Tonight's episode was one of the funniest episodes in recent years. I don't think me, my brother, and dad stopped laughing once through the whole episode. I seriously was rolling on the ground when nelson drew that picture with the plane made out of guns. I think this will become one of the favorites! Anyone on here watch it, if so what are your thoughts?

Freakin' fantastic episode. "What do the numbers make you feel?" The use of music in the episode was excellent. The Lion King parody at the beginning was great. God, I love the Simpsons.

I must say the simpsosn seems slightly rejuvenated. I think a season or two before this one they were just piling the jokes from past episodes into one and it wasn't funny, it just seemed like they were trying to hard. But now these new ones are really funny and have lost the cliche edge which was setting in.

It's definately worth it. The DVD's have the non-syndication cuts, plus some excellent commentaries.

Yeah thats a good point but I think I'd wait for later seasons to appear on dvd as I've seen most episodes about 5 times at least. Whereas I haven't seen some of the newer ones, or as many times. I have this friend who collects every season religiously so i could always borrow

Look what this forum had to say about The Simpsons. z10.invisionfree.com/collector/index.php?showtopic=887&st=0entry1355175Here is my response: Did you guys watch the same episode I did?! That was a great episode; I can say because I have seen every SINGLE episode and literally grew up with the show. It is still a great show; to say that carbon copy, Family Guy, is better makes me feel sick to my stomach. It is The Simpsons almost exactly (oh lets see how can we make our show different, I got it, instead of having the baby not say a word lets have him never shut up. Genius!). Talk about overdoing something, they have one funny joke an episode and they use it nonstop to the point of making me want to kill myself. The Simpsons has heart, it is smarter than any show on TV. There are references you will probably never get, but for the few who get them it is worth it. People say "oh the old episodes were good, the new ones suck." I can't stand hearing something like that (I mean I respect opinions, but I am just giving mine.) When you compare old Simpsons to new ones you are obviously going to be disappointed, how about comparing new episodes to everything else on TV? Then you will realize that it is the best thing on TV. I have grown up with these characters, I could watch them do ANYTHING and it would be more entertaining than Family Guy or 3/4's of the other shows out there. Simpsons is going to be studied in school, without it you wouldn't have had any of the shows you probably enjoy now. It changed TV for the better. By saying "they have done everything" you act like other shows have original ideas, well sorry to tell you, they don't! At least with the Simpsons you get a smart comedy and a well written one. With the best voice talent in the business. Sorry if I offended anyone but I just had to flip when I saw all this (what especially irked me was the mention of Family Guy). I am the biggest movie fan on this forum easily and I always say "I would take all the episodes of the Simpsons over ANY movie" and that is saying more than you can even imagine. Simpsons have created some of the most brilliant characters/episodes of anything EVER. And they will continue to do so; the show is just as funny as older episode. People seem to be suffering from the case of "older is better." If you don't like the show don't watch it, stick to Family Guy since that is obviously the better show! Again I am not yelling at anyone in particular just at the whole idea of what keeps being said. I have more of a right than most to say whether episodes are good, since I have seen the Simpsons at the best of times and the worst of times and this is definitely great. In fact last season was one of the best in years.

It`s as simple as this: People who doesn`t like The Simpsons are not worth hanging around with.

I have more of a right than most to say whether episodes are good, since I have seen the Simpsons at the best of times and the worst of times and this is definitely great. In fact last season was one of the best in years. Don't get yourself all bothered by die hard fans. TONS of them live in the past. They remember when the show was new and how much they liked it and they just feel cool saying how much better the shows from the first few seasons are. I know this because its the same with Dave Matthews Band fans. They bash ANYTHING that has come out after Everyday because its quote unquote nothing compared to the early days in 92 and 93. They are stuck in the past and can't come out of their shells. So I'm just saying, don't try to make big argumentative posts telling them what you think they said is wrong or they will just flame you to pieces (like they did on that Simpsons forum). Their flames are just cover ups so they dont have to say how much they yearn for the olden days.

Me and one of my friends have this "tradition" where we watch a couple of Simpsons-episodes before we go out to drink. Some bottles of Carlsberg along with The Simpsons in the dark is always a winner
