But better than Fargo and Dr. Strangelove? I don't think so. I got some to update, but I gotta go pretty soon, so I'll do it when I get back.

Finally, someone agrees with me that Battle Royale was far too melodramatic. Some very good elements to it, but some of those dying speeches by the kids were way too over-the-top.
...and 8/10 is far too low for Strangelove. It's easily a 10 in my book, and definitely the best comedy I've ever seen.

Okay, I've watched a few movies in the past week or so and don't feel like doing my fancy ass structure. Maybe I'll edit it later... Paths of Glory- 10/10 Great film, as to be expected of Kubrick. Probably one of his best, and definately his most underrated... Dumbland- 2/10 Lynch has really sunk low. This is on the level of some of the worst web cartoons. It has a couple funny moments, thus the 2 points awarded, but overall, comletely worthless. Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures- 10/10 An excellent documentary covering the life and films of Kubrick. Some great quotes and awesome home video footage. Superman Returns- 10/10 Will have my full review up in the Film Reviews section soon. Seen this bad boy twice now. Leon- 10/10 I've seen it before, but I just showed it to my brother. He loved it. Oldman is one of my favorite actors, and when Luc Besson is good, he's awesome. Oldman, Reno, and yes, Portman are all exceptional. Highlander- 10/10 Suck me if you don't agree. It's an amazingly fun movie, and I could care less if you film snobs like it or not. The Fisher King- 10/10 I hate to give so many movies a 10, but all these ones are. Robin Williams' best performance by far. One of Gilliam's most underrated. Rashomon- 10/10 This one is obvious. Kurosawa's third best in the book of Tim May. (First- Seven Samurai, Second- Ran)

It's easily a 10 in my book, and definitely the best comedy I've ever seen. Dr. Strangelove is between 8/10 and 9/10. I guess it all depends on my mood when I watch it. And have in mind that I think 8/10 from me is like 9/10 for many others here. I merely see anything else than 10/10s on these pages... Saw II - Too hectic editing and an overall emptyness in content makes this highly unsatisfying. Wasn`t too found of Saw either, but this was even less good. 4/10. ...And Highlander was bad. So utterly corny, and not in a good way.

Bad Boys is crap in my opinion. Anyway I saw The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951) today and what a pereft suited film for today's audience. It's message is of peace. George W. Bush must see this film! 4/5!

I saw Sin City with my sister. She liked it a lot. Same with me, though it`s the third time I see it. The first time was on the big screen and I was blown away by it`s "coolness". Second time my entusiasm got lower. This time I found it at least as entertaining as last time. All in all this is a pretty good transfer of Millers great comic book series. The music is sometimes great, sometimes bad (and, surprisingly, a bit conventional). The dialogue is superb, the acting solid and the visuals quite satisfying. A good entertaining film wich lacks some of the comic books rawness and depth (?). 8/10

Band of Outsiders 10/10 A perfect film. Just as good, maybe even better, than Breathless. You can tell Godard is just having a blast with this film. The movie moves along at a brisk pace and never fails to captivate. All the performances are great, but Anna Karina especially stands out. Godard is the precursor to Tarantino. He takes all the elements about film that he loves and throws them into his films. He is becoming one of my favorite directors and this is one of my favorite films.

King of New York - This gave me nothing. Completely empty. Dull camera-work and stereotypical characters and dialogue. The only good things about this film is Walken and the music in the end. 3/10

Star Wars Clone Wars Volume 2 7.5/10 This was alright, but the begining was really bad. The battles were amazing though. This is deff not better then the first one, it doesn't even come close in any way.

O Brother Where Art Thou? 10/10 (rewatch) Very, very underrated film from the Coens. Clooney is spectacular in the lead role as our all of the supporting cast members. The music is probably the best part of the film though. Easily one of the best soundtracks of all time.

Why??? I mean Godard's films have more emotional depth than Quentin's but I do see a similarity in their style, even though Tarantino obviously jacked it from Godard.

The Seventh Seal (1957). Rewatch *****/***** This film is flawless imo. Still looks incredible 50 years on. Bergman's Death is perhaps cinema's most iconographic character.
