Rashomon. 10/10. A great film. A lot deeper than I expected out of Kurosawa. It really delves deep into what truth is. Great performances by Mifune and Shimura as always. My 4th favorite Kurosawa.

One Night in Paris 6/10 (rewatch) This isn't the best of films. This was not as good as I thought it was going to be. Pam andersons sex tape was way better. This was just a dissapointment to all. If you want to watch good celeb porn this is not what you wana watch.

Pleasantville (rewatch) 10/10 An amazing film! It's hard to believe that this and Truman Show came out the same year. I would say its a tie between the two. They are both amazing. The performances are perfect in the film and is one of the most original films in recent years. This is highly recommended.

No, you don't know anything, Joel. 10/10 all the way. (All three of us watched it last night) It was a rewatch for me.

Dead Man- 10/10. This will be added to my top 20. Splendid movie. I know it another western, but what can I say, I love them. Depp is awesome and so are Gary Farmer and Lance Hendrikson. Jarmusch is one of the best filmmakers of today. I can't wait to see what he will do next.

Chung hing sam lam (Chungking Express) 9/10 [Kar-Wai, Wong 1994 IMDB] Great film. I may like this film more than In the Mood for Love. The cinematography is great but once again Wong borders the line of being to “arty” but this film for me doesn’t cross the line. Some of the shots were brilliant. The soundtrack is also really good especially when California Dreamin’ comes on (all the times)! It is my kind of love story, not conventional. The film is highly recommended but I am afraid may be an acquired taste. But I can clearly see why Tarantino loves this film and I am glad he put this dvd out. I want to see even more Wong after seeing this one. Has anyone on here seen this film and would like to tell what you thought of it?

The Killer- 10/10. Rewatch. The best straight up action movie of all time. Nobody does an action flick like Woo. It is a tad melodramatic, but that is a staple of Hong Kong cinema. It is too bad that Woo has descended into the ranks of Hollywood.

I just watched chinatown for the first time. Amazing! Really strong narrative and lots of twists, also quite controversial for its time.
9.4/10

8 1/2-10/10. This is such a surreal film. Fellini definitly projected himself onto the part of Guido. I love the dream sequences, they are so weird, yet so funny. This may be making an appearance on my Top 20, once I can fully grasp what I watched.

Shoot the Piano Player. 9/10. A very good film. It moves very quickly, throwing you into the life of Charlie, the piano player. The performances are very good and so is the directing. Recommended.

Throne of Blood- 9/10/. My least favorite Kurosawa so far. Yet, it was still great. Mifune is great as always. I like the supernatural element of it also. With the spirits and what not.
