Despite my love for Star Wars, Lucas is a much better producer than he is a director. Gilliam.

Did you do this JUST to knock Lucas out in the first round? Ugh. Gilliam.

There are so many better directors than Lucas. I love Star Wars. Probably almost as much as you. But he has made two other good film besides them. THX 1138 and American Graffitti.

Yeah, because he has only made two other films.

I wish he hadn't taken that long break between ANH and TPM. He could have earned the respect he deserves. Made more films.

He was too busy producing. Which is what he should be doing. He is much better at that than he is at directing.

Ugh. No. His first three films are BRILLIANTLY directed. If he had kept doing it, the prequel trilogy probably would have been better. He was out of practice for 22 years.

I do think Gilliam is a better director. Although, I like Lucas' first three films better than most of Gilliam's work. Gilliam is more talented AS A DIRECTOR, though. All around, Lucas is the more talented one.

Yes, I agree actually. As a writer, producer, and director, Lucas is better. But as a pure director, Gilliam is better.

And plus I get sick of all this Gilliam is great talk I had to attempt to put a damper on him. But I will probably fail. Don't get me wrong either I still love Gilliam.

As much as I like Grizzly Man and Herzog's version of Nosferatu, I have to go with Jackson.

Werner Herzog is operating on a highly different level. He is the better director.

I am gonna change my vote to Herzog. I think he is more talented then Jackson. Jackson has made many good films, but none of them stay with me other than the LOTR trilogy.
