As I said, he did not. It has been 24 hours since the last battle was posted, so Allen wins 3-2. Sorry Criterion and PTAhole, better luck next time. Next battle will be up momentarily.

Niether has tim, so you two can't vote ugh. This was VERY hard and I HATE basing a vote on ONE film but I will go with Renoir. Even though I love Night, Renoir is just more talented.

I'm gonna have to vote for Renoir, although I have only seen La Règle du jeu, La Bête humaine & La Grande illusion ( a long time ago). My vote is based on how much I dislike Shyamalan to be honest. In fact, I would probably vote for Alan Smithee over him.

What sort of comparison is this? Night basically has zero talent whilst Renoir is one of the greatest ever directors. La Grande Illusion and Le regle de jeu are both incredible films. Must see more!

I would not say Night has zero talent. I love the respect he shows Hitchcock in all of his films with his homages and stuff. And I really like Unbreakable and Sixth Sense.

Its not really supposed to be a comparison. I like Night, but it is widely accepted the Renoir is the better director. That is why Renoir's a 2 and Shyamalan is a 15.

I suppose I have to go with Ritchie because I really like Snatch and Lock Stock, and I've only seen one Altman film, which I wasn't too keen on (Gosford Park).
