This is hard. Both have made lots of crappy-average films & a couple of great ones each. IMO Videodrome & Spider are Cronenberg's best, but these are not as good as Alien & Blade Runner. So, Scott.

Polanski, even though I love Ford. The thing with Ford is that he made so many films. And so many of them are not really special. Then, he made a few gems also.
