Yes, I have seen Broken Flowers. It is one of his best. Yes, I put him above Kurosawa for now. I need to see more Kurosawa though. So his ranking may change once I have seen more.

I certainly hope it does. Once you see more films I doubt he will even be on your list.

Well if you see all the greatest films and he is still on there that would be very odd. I just said I hope he does.

The fact that you have Burton on there without Coppola or Spielberg, and ABOVE KUBRICK AND ALTMAN sickens me.

I love him. He is so quirky and dark. Spielberg is a great director but not one of my favs. Coppola doesnt belong on my list either.

I love Kubrick. But some of his best films have great first halfs and drop out in the second half, like I have stated before.

Don't give us that "first half better than second" shit. Kubrick never made a film NEARLY as bad as Planet of the Apes remake. Burton's two best films (Ed Wood and Big Fish) can't even comapare to most Kubrick. You sicken me.

here's some of mine, in no particular order:
- Akira Kurosawa - Martin Scorcese - Stanley Kubrick - Steven Spielberg (moreso his earlier films from the 70s and 80s than his more recent films (90s onward)) - Francis Ford Coppola - Sergio Leone - Orson Welles - Chan-wook Park
A pretty conventional list, but whatever.

Tarr Lynch Bergman Klimov Herzog Coppola (circa 72-83) Kubrick Leone Haneke Clouzot
I've missed loads out. These are the ones that come to mind at present.
