I got a used copy of this for 32 bucks I love HG Lewis, I am thinking about starting a thread for him soon, and would like to hear your thoughts as you watch those films. I saw 2000 Maniacs when I was like 10 so ive been meaning to see his films for a long time. It sucks though, because noobody (including my mom) knows I got them. So I might not be able to watch them soon.

Did true events actually inspire Jaws!? Anyone know? That is an amazing, amazing set. 3-D glasses should always be included in sets, haha. And Return of the Living Dead is a classic; so hilarious. Have you seen it before?

Did true events actually inspire Jaws!? Anyone know? Actually the 1916 shark attacks in New Jersy did indeed inspire Peter Benchley to write Jaws. Here is a great website that describes the attacks with great photos: www.njhm.com/matawanmaneater.htm

Have you seen Akahige (aka. Red Beard) before, wkw?
It's a friggin' masterpiece, I tell you. Probably my favorite Kurosawa.

No, but when I saw that it was a 3 hours long Kurosawa film I couldn't help but get it. I hear that Mifune is magnificient in this.

Bought both Amores Perros (which I've seen) and Chungking Express. Also rented The Protector Ah, the Protector. Absolute shit in terms of story and acting, but obviously that's not what you watch this kind of movie for. You watch it to be in absolute awe of Tony Jaa, and to watch a 7 minute long uncut shot of him kicking bad guys' asses while running up a guggenheim-style ramp. Sheer awesomeness.

Rented Zatoichi and Sonatine today, to get me in the mood for some more Kurosawa within the next few weeks (Ran, Sanjuro, possibly something else)

That's a great concert film. The intercutting between the actual concert footage and the fantasy-esque "story" kept things pretty interesting.

It's nice, I haven't sat down and watched it yet, I've only seen snippets of it while I was making breakfast (my mom's birthday!). I may tonight or maybe tomorrow.

The Song Remains the Same is awesome, though I would prefer a full concert without the fantasy elements.

Shoot the Piano Player is a great film. I think you will enjoy it. The other two films are excellent as well, as you know.
