i meant it both ways: Alfredo Garcia is a better movie overall, and it's more over-the-top, more violent, more pulpy than Three Burials.

The finest relationship between a deranged alkie and a severed appendage i've seen portrayed on film: Benny and "Al."

La Haine (2 DVD & CD Soundtrack) - Ultimate Edition (Limited Edition Steel Tin packaging) [1995] have you seen la haine before? Yes, I have and it's among the best films of the 90s, I love the way the film culminates in the last minutes, man that ending is intense. Besides, the it's a funny film too, one of the most memorable things which happens in the film is to me when they visist the kong-fu guy with the pistol.

A young filmmaker attempts to understand his life by recording it on film, only to have his experiment turn into an alienating, voyeuristic obsession. One of the neglected milestones in contemporary film history, this legendary independent classic captures the state of mind and the state of the art in late 1960s America. This sounds like a really interesting film. Was going cheap at Borders so I grabbed it.

Yeah so you may have seen my comment on David Holzmans diary in the last watched section but I'll comment here to Err yes, I thought it was a fascinating film about a fairly ordinary mans life. He becomes obsessed with finding the meaning in his life through filming it. Some of it is a little pointless but its always intriguing and really funny in parts. It feels so entirely real and I forgot I was watching a 'mockumentary' at times. Well worth checking it out, its just so well made as a 'real' document of a real person. Very cleverly made. I'll watch the other film included on the disk as well, called my girlfriends wedding. Apparently the director Jim Mcbride intended these films to be watched together....

Today I bought: Battle Royale I and II. I can't find a pic of it but it's a 2-Disc set distributed by Wision. Bought it again today, but as a gift this time. My friend's birthday is in September (yeah, I know, it's early) and he's dying to get this but can't find it anywhere around him (lives in Michigan). I know I won't have the time or the money in September when I'm in college to get it and send it to him, so I'm doing it early.
