I had tickets for the Cleveland show for RHCP, but I had finals for school next day and had to sell them. Bummer really.

Hi everybody!
My name is Kayla, I'm fifteen, and I'm from South Africa. You are a really fascinating bunch, but I'm still learning as I go along, so be nice! So far I've been made to feel welcome, though.
Thanks, all of you. Looking forward to having a good chat or few.

Welcome! I've read most of your posts, and I think you will be contributing alot in here. You seem mature and stuff, and I hope we can have som interesting discussions. When that's said, this is a place where you can post "inmature" things as well. Just so you know you can post whatever that is popping up in your brain

I'm from that wierd country named Norway (so please excuse my poor english). I want to go to Norway one day. Or actually, I want to go everywhere one day. I have a restless spirit, so I anticipate that once I am released from the confines of my family, and also not being taken seriously yet, I will travel the world! But both of us are from funny places. Or, at least, funny to Americans.

Hehe, yeah. It's nice to get some "exotic" contribution to the forum. Travelling is always nice, but I haven't been in Africa at all. Hmm. Maybe I should check it out one day. Until then, I guess I'll just have to sit here with/on (a question of definition) my computer and hold the winter cold outside.

WOW I need some cold right now, it's eleven PM here, and it feels like a Saharan desert in my bedroom. With the fan on. Africa is an amazing continent, with our crime and AIDS and heat and hunger. South Africa is actually pretty damn civilized! I love it here, I'd never call another country home. But I'm a loner, I just want to get out of here for a while, to anywhere my imagination can take me. Alone. I think you should check out Africa, absolutely. It's really great here. But come to South Africa if you aren't ready for the shock of your life yet.

Hey Just registered. And surprisingly I'm not the only norwegian here! Wow. Hei, Endre! haha, nice to meet you at this forum too Well, I don't have so much to tell, except that I'm a psychology student, LOVE (!) movies, music and people. Who I am and what type of movies i enjoy will hopefully show through my future participation in this hopefully vivid and outgrowing forum. And if my English i too bad, then kick my ass, and I'll try to work something better out. Cheers!

But hey, these guys haven't complained one bit concerning by poor english, so I guess you will survive. I hope you'll be active on this forum, my dear Drizzt.

I'm a first-year student at the faculty of psychology. If my dream comes true, I'll study psychology as a profession, and end up as a psychologist What about you? What do you plan to study? I think Endre wants to move up to Trondheim, so why don't you too? Think of all the afernoons with Bergman, Tarkovsky, Lynch, Herzog, Cassavetes etc we could arrange.. ouh, it makes me drool

Filmvitenskap som fordypning? here's a link, if your interested: www.ntnu.no/studier/kunst-medier-kommunikasjonJust the thought of us gathering together and watch [put in the directors drizzt mentioned ++], discussing it afterwards and stuff... just... wow.

I haven't really applied yet, but I'm quite sure my first pick is Filmvitenskap ved NTNU. Of course I am going to apply to other places as well, but don't quite know which ones yet. It's cool that you want to to work with film. That way you combine your deep interest in the art form in both work and "hobby". Great! It would have been cool to see you as a director in, let's say, seven years (?), but hey, if it's too difficult you can always "change track", you know. It would have been awesome if you would consider Filmvitenskap ved NTNU. But there you learn the history and "language" of film, and not to practically make a film. So... I don't know your thoughts there, but it seems like you wanna become a filmmaker, and not merely a film critic (or "kulturskribent" or whatever ), so then again, NTNU may nt be the right place to start. I don't know.

I don't know. Yes, I know what you're writing about. My inner conflict is exactly which road to take. Should I study film to be a filmmaker or study film to be teacher/writer/critic. Either way, I must go all the way. Well, a lot of people do take this course before they apply for filmproduction. There are not many who goes straight into filmmaking in Norway. The film business is very limited in Norway and our films suck compared to Sweden and Denmark. I haven't seen Reprise yet but I read that the filmmaker Joachim Trier made a short film in Norway which earned some prizes and got into a filmschool in England with it. Then after three years and graduation he returned to Norway and could make a film for Norwegian producers. So if I want to become a filmmaker I must make a couple of (very good) short films , 'cos that's a way to get into film schools. The fact is, I've written some short-film screenplays that I'm very satisfied with. Besides I've done many school projects since Barneskolen with DV-camera and editing-program on PC. So basically I must develop more practical abilities.
