Well, I am not done with the Dark Half yet. But the last one I read was: The Stand by Stephen King (re-read)- 100000/10. My favorite book ever. I have read it 6 times. And its over a thousand pages long. Yep, I''m that obsessed. King is at his best here. So many characters, so much development. This book will never be topped by another pop-lit writer. I wish they had made a better movie out of this. Gary Sinise? Cmon.

I love the Stand, but I prefer The Dark Tower and Needful Things (which has a god-awful movie)

Well, the Dark Tower as a whole probably beats The Stand. I haven't got to Needful Things yet.

The Dark Half- Stephen King 9/10 Not my favorite King by any means. But it is still fantastic. I would have given this a ten if I hadn't seen the end coming. He could have thrown a twist in or something. Could have been made into a better movie. I would have expected more from Romero.

Casino Royale by Ian Fleming 7/10 The first James Bond book. It was a very fast read and somewhat entertaining, but it had tons of flaws. Bond is stiff, he lacks any sense of emotion at all. The dry wit is not there, that must have been added in the movie. Also, the action is seriously lacking. There is very little at all. Overall, I hope the movie improves on the book because the book was only decent.

Read these two comics: Bongo Comics Free-For-All! - 6/10 The first story was great but the rest weren't to great imo. But it was free so thats great! Simpsons Classics #8 - 9/10 Amazing! All the stories were great and some should have already been turned into episodes. Well worth the 2$ I spent on this. I will be buying more "Simpsons Classics" comics. God The Simpsons are great. (example of the comic I read not the exact issue)

Best of Disney 8/10
Was great but it was so old (1988!) so it was missing all the new great disney like Lion King and Beauty and the Beast. But still a good read.

The Man with the Golden Gun- Ian Fleming. 8/10 Fleming obviously improved Bond as he wrote the books. The dry wit is here and so is the womanizing quality. However, the story does not compare to the story of the movie. It is too straight forward and too short. Also, the action is very lacking. Overall, I do not think I will be purchasing more Bond books. They are just not as fun as the movies are.

I didn't like the Man With the Golden Gun movie. I also hate Roger Moore as bond outside of the Spy Who Loved Me.

I liked The Man with the Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, and the Voodoo one that I cannot recall the name of. But Moore definitely was the worst Bond.

A Scanner Darkly- Philip K. Dick 10/10 The best drug meditation I have ever read. The story unfolds at just the right speed and the characters are developed just the right amount. I usually do not like sci-fi books, but I was definitely suprised by this one.

Odd Thomas- 10/10 (re-read_ My second favorite book ever contains my favorite character. Odd Thomas is all at once innocent yet, so dark and mysterious. The book races along at the best possible place, never really throwing in a twist, but keeping to a very well constructed plot. The dialogue is what really carries this book. Odd's musings on the dead and life in general are fascinating and funny. Koontz is a poor man's King most of the time, but just like King, when he's good, he's fantastic. Still can't wait to read the two sequels!

I finished needful things yesterday. Great book, very entertaining and well maintained story. At first I was overwhelmed by the amount of characters but they are all individual and have personality, rather than variations on one sort of persona. I thought the ending was a little rushed and wasn't great, in my opinion, but that didn't mar my overall enjoyment of this. I think I shall be reading much more King in the future. Its also the quickest i've ever read a 790 page book! 9/10

The Kiler Angels 9/10 A good little piece of historical fiction. You learn a lot about the battle of Gettysburg but it doesnt bore you. Perfect for a before battlefield read.
A Clockwork Orange 9/10 I can see why this is a classic book. The characters are superb and so is the language. However, the book does get bogged down with the language at times. Something that never happened in the movie.

Different Seasons - King The collection of longish short stories was excellent. Apt pupil is the best short I've read in ages and was my favourite out of the four. I enjoyed reading the body but it was just a little bit boring in places if I'm honest. Also the breathing method was good until the breathing method story was told. Almost entirely forgettable and quite pointless. King makes a brilliant set up. An unnamed club, strange things within and then tells this dull and very vacuous story. I didn't mind the shawshank redemption but probably didn't get as much pleasure from it as I already know, having seen the film how this slight story unfolds. So I suppose the book as a whole wasn't excellent. So ratings for each story:
The body - Stirs some mild nostalgia with in me although tails off for long periods between the happenings of anything interesting. 6/10 the writing cannot be faulted, its just a bit dull.
Apt Pupil - Menacing and grotesque. Entirely well created characters with a sickly cruel ending. Suffusely and vividly written. 9/10
Breathing method - Loved the first half, but the central story was shit 5/10
Shawshank - Sure, well written but I dont care for the tale. 7/10

The Dark Half - Stephen King I think this will go beside needful things as my favourite King so far. Its fast and vicious, gory and tightly plotted. I like the characters and the ending was neat. Plus it wasn't to long, I'm sorry to say that the stand defeated me, 700 pages in and I just died of slight boredom quite honestly. 9/10
The twelfth card - Jeffery Deaver Deaver is probably my favourite author, he just never lets you down in the twists and turns stakes. The returning characters are all memorable and impeccably characterised. Their is a familiarity in the way his books are structured but he just writes with such fluidity and narrative variety that I rarely come away from one of his books unfulfilled. Even this, I'd say was a weaker effort, but still very good when compared to some other authors in the same ball park. The criminology side of things fascinates me also. 8/10

Honeymoon - James patterson
I zipped through this is a few days. Its about a woman who kills her rich husbands despite feeling for them. The book has such short chapters that it was good to just pickup and have a quick read. Though it is simplistically written and is clearly 'one for the beach'. Their was a gaping plot hole near the end which annoyed me too. But overall it wasn't bad, forgettable for sure but enjoyable while it lasted. 6/10

Night Shift - Stephen King
There are some kickass short stories contained in here. The format remains similar for many of throughout: a short introduction in which we encounter the character, bizzare stuff starts happening and finally the hero encounters the big monster or villian behind it, which range from boogymen to trucks, and homocidal machinery to crazy lawnmower men. Jerusalem's Lot is particularly impressive (I have not read 'Salems Lot yet). A few stories miss the mark though, but it's forgivable for the many creepy moments packed in this engaging book. 8/10
