Those were all my boyfriend's choices, and these are mine: And a random CD called "Tequila Sunrise" with the likes of The Cowboy Junkies, R.E.M., Jam, etc. on it. I LOVE it but it doesn't seem to exist on the internet.

Yes, it is better than the last album. In fact, it might be up there with Deloused in the Comatorium.

Yes, it is better than the last album. In fact, it might be up there with Deloused in the Comatorium. Amputechture was pretty disappointing, so that's not saying much. Although your second sentence is saying quite a lot. TMV went from being one of my favorite bands to being on my imaginary "don't trust 'em" list, so I will wait until it is completely effortless on my part to listen to their newest. I mentioned to Chris that I listened to In the Aeroplane Over the Sea and wasn't too impressed with it, but these things happen. My current list of CDs borrowed is too expansive, but this list shows a good portion of what might count here, especially the CDs with the 2008/02 tag.

I wasn't able to pick up the seven or so holds that arrived at my library yesterday, so I went today and look at what I got: In other words, something for everyone. Well, okay, here's something for everyone: edit: Also had some of the following in recent days... KRS-One, Ali Farka Touré, Matisyahu, Beach Boys, De La Soul, Animal Collective, DMB, Bob Dylan, CCR, Ziggy Marley, Guitar Shorty, WU-TANG CLAN, Woody Guthrie, Firefly OST, Zatoichi 27 OST, Beck and the aforementioned albums.

you must rip that Kronos Quartet one and upload it to rapidshare or something. i've been looking for it for AGES! Can do. Do you need it in .mp3, or can I rip it in .ogg? I even have the option to rip it in .flac if you want it lossless. Also, do you want me to take pictures of the liner notes? Since you're a fan, do you want Glenn Gould's OST to 32 Short Films about Glenn Gould as well? That Springsteen box is seriously awesome, does that come with the DVD too? It comes with the regular CD, Hammersmith Odeon, London '75 DVD, Wings for Wheels: Making of DVD and a booklet. I'm not really sure if I'm going to watch any of the concerts/making of material, but definitely going to listen to the CD. Also, walking into the library, I knew I had ten CDs waiting for me, but on the CD/DVD shelf, there were only nine. I felt like something bad was going to happen as I walked over to the book holds, and sure enough, that mammoth beast was waiting for me. Feels kind of strange bringing a haul like that over to the check-out counter. Here's what's waiting for me: Facing future by Israel "Iz" Kamakawiwoʻole Electric ladyland by the Jimi Hendrix Experience The whispering wall by the Legendary Pink Dots The information by Beck Relationship of command by At the Drive-In Briefcase full of blues by the Blues Brothers Ummagumma by Pink Floyd

andruini, I was able to eventually get a .mp3 rip of Short Stories. I took some pictures of the liner notes. Overall, good quality release. I have .ogg and .flac releases of the same kind, if anyone's interested. Mediafire and Rapidshit both failed on me, so we're going with Massmirror on this one. HERE IS THE LINK. USE IT WISELY.Rain Dogs was actually really good. Chris, you may have mentioned it before, but Tom Waits is a great musician. I guess I should pay more attention next time. I'm surprised that I lost interest midway through Phrenology. Going to check out some more by the Roots in a while, though, don't worry. Exodus was great. I like other Beatles albums more than both Rubber Soul and Revolver, which really complement each other down to the CD designs, but they're good. Dubliners compilation was actually really good; I need to check out their actual albums. Machine Gun Etiquette was about as good as punk can be, not to insult punk but you know, punk is fast, loud and dangerous, things which aren't always associated with good. You know, 100% of the time. Loveless is good, though I'm not quite hooked on it yet; need to check out other shoegazing sometime. And am too scared to check out the Born to Run collection.

Yea, Tom Waits is great. Let me know when you overcome your fear. What Tom Waits album should I look into next? Yeah, I've made a tag on RYM to let you know what I think of Born to Run once I listen to it. Though I did listen to Devils and Dust last night for the second time and it just didn't really make an impression on me. You know what I mean? Oh, and three more CDs are waiting for me today... including Strange Days and two that you guys might not know too well.

I'd say check Frank's Wild Years or Swordfishtrombones out next. They are both similar to the style of Rain Dogs. You will probably enjoy them if you enjoyed that record.
Devils and Dust is one of my least favorite Bruce albums. It definitely has its moments (Maria's Bed, Long Time Comin') and it translates well live. But there are some songs on there that just seem like filler to me.

I've heard a lot about the latter album you suggested, so since I checked out twelve albums today, I'm quickly filling up the slots , but I did find Real Gone, which sounds like "one of Waits' toughest albums to really get into and undoubtedly suffers from overlength and uneven songwriting. Like almost all Waits' albums, Real Gone features a few fantastic tracks but it also lacks the diversity that characterises Waits very best output." So I might give it a spin, but maybe I'll wait for the other two. You didn't rate Devils and Dust, so I didn't know what you thought of it. It's alright though. It's not too bad, but nothing really "stucks" to me about it. Oh yeah, I'm listening to Relationship of Command right now. I think it's decent enough, but definitely one of those "under my belt" recordings. I also forgot just how silly the MANNNU-SCRIPT REPLICAAAA part of Rolodex Propaganda really was.
