I got my ticket for free an hour before the line-up started, I didn't go for ANY of the bands, I don't like one of them, but Muse... Oh my word. I was dumbstruck. Maybe it was the weed I was smoking, but they really touched my inside. All of the live stuff I've heard from Muse is great, so maybe they were genuinely good. Of all of those, I'm most surprised 30 Seconds to Mars was there. Isn't Jared Leto too busy pretending to be a drug addict to actually have the time to be one?

Yeah, I think Muse totally really rocked South Africa.

Ironically enough, I picked up 30 Seconds to Mars's debut album at the library today. I want to plow through some of the generic shitty rock music of the 90s and 00s so I rip them up. Drowning Pool's Sinner is one such example. Sure, the vocalist died, but that doesn't make the music any less shitty. Makes me feel better to say that. So, yeah. Cool things: Went over to a friend of mine's house yesterday, worked on his computer, watched Predator and Kung Fu Hustle, stayed the night, bought An Inconvenient Truth for $3, talked with a friend on the bus ride home, got home and chillaxed.

I worked, accidentally insulted my thick fuck manager and rounded off the fun day in the slave trade by buying some reduced price easter eggs

^That sucks, I have exams from April 1st to the 4th.
But, on a higher note, I spent the past four days in Washington D.C. and New York City respectively.

Yes it did. I saw a bunch of colleges, two Broadway shows, and ate way too much. I'm sad that it had to end

All good things come to an end And to answer your question Kayla they were mainly cadbury eggs and the 'fancy' ones that stores do, plus 4 Lindt chocolate bunnies which are about the best things ever and great to get reduced because they cost a lot ;D

Well, Saturday I went to this arcade that had $5 unlimited play. Stayed for about two hours or so. A third of the machines were either partially or completely broken, another third were like skateboarding games and skiing games that I'd never play anyways and the other third was what I played mainly. There was one with the biggest fucking gun I'd ever seen outside of my pants that totally rocked my socks. Worth the $5, but I probably wouldn't go every week, and if I did go again, I'd go with more friends. Today, watched Big Trouble in Little China (9/10) and Serenity (10!!!/10). Holy fucking shit, new favorite movie right there.

Got my groove on and began writing a story idea I have. Lately, its probably a cliche to say so, but I have been reading Stephen Kings memoir 'on writing' and I now feel very inspired by what he writes. Perfect sensible advice. It's refreshed my confidence in writing. So anyway I'm intending to write a thousand words per day and end up with a story of around 10,000 words in length. So 1000 words were achieved today and I hope to carry on from there Today I was also sent a copy of a new script by my former teacher and video horror director Johannes Roberts (when evil calls, most recently). His latest script is one of the best things he has come up with, I'm pleased to announce. It has the feeling of several King stories (sometimes they come back and children of the corn stuck most in my mind) with a little bit of Breakfast club influences and some of it's own originality. It's a fairly standard horror movie idea which has some fresh curves to it. The basic plot is 3 kids in after school detention have to defend themselves against a gang of mindlessly violent teenagers who kill the janitor and break into the school. It has a lot of gory and visual potential. I hope things go well for it because Jo is a guy who's really passionate about his work and who seems to improve more and more with each film he makes. Good luck to the man

Another 1000 words writing today. I'm fairly pleased but I'm not entirely sure where the plot is going. I feel inspired by Mister King though who says that plot is annoying, stories are great devloped out of the situation.....we'll see how I fare

Found out that I got an extension on some homework for my senior project / thesis class, but finished up one of the assignments and turned it in anyways. Oh wait, this was for cool things, wasn't it?

I wrote about 2,000 words yesterday for my senior thesis proposal. It's at a total of 3,000 today, but I imagine some of those extra words were written either the day before or maybe not even written at all. I also had an encounter that went a little something like this: me - "Hey, what's up?" Friend 1 - "Nothing much." Friend 2 - "Hey, say [this word]. It's African for 'what's up.'" me - "Which language? I know there are a couple, like Zulu and Wolof." Friend 2 - "It's Wolof." Friend 1 - "How'd he know that? He knows more about Africa than I do and I live there 24 hours a day!" ;D

Okay so I just gotta talk about the vegeance trilogy deluxe edition, has to be the coolest dvd boxset I've ever seen! Beautiul box packaging, nice inner foldout box with all the disks and the hammer - my fuckng god the hammer! So I was expecting this little plastic keyring thing but instead I got an actual hammer! Seriously it's only a bit small than a real hammer, heavy and everything. It's scary that they're giving away here a potential murder weapon...or handy tool Actually though its just a very big bottle opener which I can really see myself taking to parties as a novelty item

The coolest thing I did today was find Student Bodies (in twelve parts) on YouTube. It's right up Evan's alley, though I don't think Double D would find it arthouse enough.

Today I watched a strange Chow Yun-Fat movie, Treasure Hunt. I enjoyed it, but it was a very odd mixture of genres. It was comedy/action/fantasy/romance/martial arts all jumbled together.
I've watched a lot of Hong Kong movies, and I'm used to them being quickly made and with uneven plots, but this one was a real pastiche. It was good in a weird way, though, and had some terrific pyrotechnics at the end.

Bought two toys today at Target. ($10) Sup, LoC? ($4) This two-pack apparently sells for more than the rest. I wanted to get the first model of Iron Man and Iron Monger, but unfortunately both Targets I went to did not have them. The first Target only had three different types of toys: regular Iron Man, Iron Man with Tony Stark's ugly mug and "Target Employee" red/white Iron Man, plus they were hidden like five aisles away from the toy section in the back. Second Target had an endcap with Iron Man stuff (like the first one), but didn't have any of the ones that mattered.
