V for Vendetta - I liked it, but it lacks charm. 7/10
Batman Begins - (3th time) - Not as good as last time, but still a good film. 7/10

Well, Run Lola Run is not for everybody. Its one of those films that you either hate or love. I personally loved it.

Le Samouraï (Melville, Jean-Pierre 1967 IMDB) 9/10 The film is really good because of the performance from Delon but also because the film has a very laid back feeling to me. It just felt very calm and cool. Which I really like. I also like the film noir feel, it adds to the overall coolness of the movie. The score to the film was great. Although I didn't think it was a "perfect" film, it has been called one of the best ever and I would not disagree with that at all really. Some parts were very slow but it isn’t too bad. I still strongly recommend everyone seeing this film. It is my definition of "Bad Ass."

I agree with captainofbeef, Run Lola Run is excellent but needs 2-3 viewings.

Glad you liked Le Samourai Criterionmaster. And Andruini, if you didnt hate Run Lola Run too much, try and give it another watch. Just to see if you like it better. If you dont, I'm sorry. But it is one of those films that needs to be seen more than once to get the true feel of the movie.

Interrogation. A woman is taken by the secret police and is subjected to a series of more and more fierce interrogations. Its a fascinating and provoking film, quite low key. At times it straddles a thin line between political thriller and woman in prison movies without as much exploitation. Strangely, it also reminded me a bit of chicken run. Wrong imprisonment and stuff like that. Good film, very nice lighting work and a fine lead acting performance. 8/10

Ugh, Lola sucked, it was just too gimmicky in my opinion. Which is kinda the way I'm starting to feel about Requiem for a Dream and Fight Club. Someone please tell me what's amazing about it. Ugh! All three of those are great films.

United 93- 9/10. Its very hard to like this movie. Not because its a bad movie, just because of the subject matter. It is actually a very good movie. Greengrass is the perfect director for this. His shaky camera style is great for the flight scenes. It has its flaws. But you should still go see it. Very inspirational even though it is extraordinarly sad.

Night and Fog
An extrordinary 31 minutes. It crams in a huge amount of horrifying images and makes some very interesting points about the concentration camps. Its very sad seeing all of the dead bodies being dumped into shallow graves and other cruel acts. 10/10 - chilling, a virtually perfect documentary with great historical importance.

It is very hard to say "I like" the film. I more appreciate what it says. I am glad you appreciated it as much as me. I doubt I will ever forget what happens in the film.

The thing which was most amazing was how powerful such a short film is, really, the last 10 minutes or so are harrowing. The descriptions of how body parts were used and all...
Another film I saw was Samurai 1 Miyamoto Musashi. I only watched it last night, but my recollection is vague. It didn't leave a huge impression on me. The colour was bad and the studio sets weren't to good, the fights were mediocre and the whole thing was just rather forgettable except maybe the first 20 or so minutes. heres hoping that the trilogy picks up after this which I hope is just an establishment to better things.

It is actually one of my favorite trilogies. The first one needs a better transfer to really appreciate it. But I personally love it. Stick with it, the end of the trilogy is amazing. I am very surprised you didn't like the story. I think it is one of my favorite stories ever. But just keep watching I hope you will like it.

I also quite liked the ending now I think about it. It sets things up quite nicely for the next installment, which I'll watch soon and give my thoughts.

Whatever, sorry.
The Sugarland Express- 8.5/10 Finally watched this. Very good for a debut feature (Duel was a TV movie) I think most of the acting is good. The only real flaw is that it drags a bit in the middle. Defineately worth checking out.

I tried to watch Tokyo drifter but concentrated instead of monging out at the visuals. I have come to this conclusion. Sezuki was an incredibly studio directed director. He didn't script write and had to work very quickly when he worked for Nikkatsu. He is a visual master, absolute master. Though he still has to make a linear script into something good, here he fails. The narrative is ridiculously incoherent. Case in point: This woman gets out of a car, next shot she has a gun to her back, she is then ushered into the bad guys car. Mid way through the drive out hero tetsu turns around and takes his sunglasses off. How the hell did he get their? Were the bad guys fooled by his clever disguies? It makes no damn sense. This may not entirely be Sezukis fault but he must have had some hand in the screw ups. Also I defended to editing style but this viewing it became so clear to me how awful it was. One minute these two guys are up close having a fist fight type scuffle, next shot they are about 4 metres apart....maybe a few frames got lost along the way or Sezuki was drunk on Saki or tiger beer and couldn't keep up the continuity. Branded to kill is definitely better. BTW I didn't get all through it. 29 minutes in and I was frustrated and quite bored. 2/5

I have not seen any Suzuki. But I have read that style is what he was about. He was given scripts and he was told to make a movie. If he didnt stick to the script, he would get fired. He ended up getting fired anyway, but in order to put some type of his touch on it he overloaded on the style. I guess I will form my own opinon when I see his films.

I agree on Tokyo Drifter. The editing was awful.
Manhunter - What a great thriller! Stylish and tense, with a wonderful soundtrack. 9/10
Die Hard - Great one-liners! Seen this many times... 8/10
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) - Quite creepy, but quite poor at the same time. 5/10

I cannot believe it. TCM is the best horror film ever imo. I don't see how you could only give it a 5!
