Pretty tough. Gotta go with Bergman though. I am surprised you went with Bergman based on Seventh Seal alone, I wouldn't have. Once I saw Fanny och Alexander it's obvious I go with Bergman but Wilder is better than Bergman based on Seventh Seal alone imo. |

Well, I have to gauge what I think his other work is going to be like. Not on what I have seen. Otherwise I wouldn't have voted for Fellini or Bergman. Based on recommendations, it seems that Bergman is the better director. This is just how I vote.

I haven't seen every bergman film but the ones I have seen are haunting and fantastic and highly acclaimed. Bergman barely seems to have made a bad films in a 40 year or so career.
So yeah, its Bergman even though Billy Wilder has made some really good films to, he also made some mediocre ones.

Woody Allen. Argento has made a couple of good film's. Suspiria is excellent & Inferno is worth checking out. His early stuff aint bad (Bird with Crystal Plumage, Profondo Rosso, 4 Flies on Grey Velvet etc). Woody is a genius though. What about that line in Sleeper (1973) when he hears the noise in the woods?... "what if it's something with the body of a crab and the head of a Social Worker?".
