After I immediately read about Robert Altman's death I felt depressed and decided to somewhat honour him, 'cos his work have been important to me. So I bought two of Altman's films that I've never seen before: The first was 3 Women (1977) for £6.99 at Play.com, and the second was The Long Goodbye (1973) for £5.99 at Play.com. Rest in peace Robert Altman...

I mentioned this in the Altman thread, but I'm glad that you're going to be watching the Long Goodbye. I liked it even before I really started to get into movies, so it's a movie I'm fond of.

Taste of Cherry was the only recommnendation of mine (and my recommendation was probably just a bump) that you've rented so far? At least I have an excuse: I don't rent DVDs. I borrow them from the library, and right now, my closest library is under construction, so I haven't been bringing in as many recommended favorites as I might normally. Slacker.

Well when I asked I already had like 100+ films on my list, so all the ones you recommended will go on when I shorten it down, only rarely do I add a film to my list that I didn't already have on there. But I do have, I believe, two others you recommended somewhere on there.

No, I did not. But I'm considering getting it, now. It's a really great set. I actually got mine for free over at Deep Discount DVD through a sale they were doing (I got DoTD: UE and Evil Dead I and II Book Set for ~$40). Three versions of the film and tons of extras. It's 100% worth it. I actually have the DVD they released of DoTD right before they came out with the UE.

OWND: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid - $15 (down from $20~) Magnolia - $10.50 (I think it was around $8 or $9, but it easily finished off my order, and it's been recommended before, so, blind buy time!) All I've gotta say is, 'bout time on the Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid DVD. I've been watching the price since I saw the movie a few months ago, and finally, finally, finally. Great price on a greater movie.

Guess I wasn't done there. The Dreamers - $5 (blind buy, Clark Nova's suggestion and it was cheap) The Big Lewboiskidididi - $8 (blind buy, dontdigonswine's suggestion, other people's suggestion, it was cheap and I need to see it) TRON - $14 (Because I'm a computer guy, this was required viewing. But I really do like this movie, for reasons that my eventual review on the movie will proof as being noteworthy for even non-techies.)

I've heard that's it's funny and pretty good as well. It was just a matter of waiting around until it was cheap enough before doing a SNEAK ATTACK on it and picking up a copy.

Got some for $40 total:
The Green Mile (two-discer) Million Dollar Baby (three-discer) One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (two-discer) True Romance (two-discer)
Two copies of Miracle on 34th Street (one-discer), because they were giving them away at Macy's. If I had been there, I would have stocked up on DVD cases. Oh well.
edit: No images because I'm extremely tired, and you probably have seen half of them.

Well I walk into Borders to use some more of my Holiday Rewards money and I get up with the DVD I want and the machines don't work! And they say there is nothing they can do about it and that they can keep it on hold for me and that I can come back another day. But they gave me a coupon for $5 off next purchase. So I would have my DVD to be able to enjoy but instead I have this nice coupon. Let's just say I am pissed, but I will go and get it in the next day or two. That DVD was:
