Just bought: $61 over at DVDPlanet. Good deals, especially since MST3K Season One is OOP. Now I need to buy 3, which is going out of print, and season 10 which will be soon.

Made some much too long-awaited purchases:
Collateral Goodfellas for a total of 15 bucks. Not bad, I guess. Really needed to buy them, though.

Not bad indeed, especially if you purchased the two-disc version of Goodfellas (which I still need to pick up).

Bought this (for X-mas): Single disc (I don't need all the extra cuts, just the definitive one)

Yes, I used Google Checkout over at DVDPlanet, I advise everyone to look on there as well. Best prices I have probably ever seen for some things. And nice grab with Hidden Fortress, have you seen it before? It is a great and isn't getting a Criterion re-release like Yojimbo/Sanjuro are.

Hidden Fortress is indeed great. Though I think i ranked it 7th out of the 8 kurosawas i've seen some time back, it's still a great, incredibly enjoyable adventure flick...plenty of action and humor and, as always, impeccable acting from the incomparable Toshiro Mifune. It's a shame that these days it's pretty much known as nothing more than Lucas' inspiration for Star Wars...it's so much better than that on its own. And before i even put it in my cart on CD Universe, i went over to Criterion's website on the off-chance they were re-releasing it sometime down the road. I already knew about Yojimbo, and i'm still pissed i've already got the original release of that...i'm just gonna end up replacing it. Oh, well...
and it was either hidden fortress or the 4-disc edition of Superman...i think i made the wise choice...i'll save superman for some other time.

Bought the two-disc set of Raging Bull for $17 during class today. ...And here I thought I never would get anything out of a stupid-easy Microsoft Outlook class. I did! I just had to pay for it.

Just picked up Match Point. Finally. Excellent. One of Woody's best and an incredibly underappreciated and criminally unknown film. May be one of the best films this decade.

I just got to have my favorite Woody Allen film on DVD - Love And Death [1975], bought for for £4.99. and I could'nt resist Network [1976] for £5.99. It's also one of my favorite films. Early Christmas presents for me!!! ;D

I gotta see Love and Death one of these days. it'll probably be my next Woody film. As for network, you can't beat that price, but it probably would've been worth it to shell out a little more for the 2-disc special edition. i haven't listened to it yet, but i'm sure Lumet's commentary alone is great.

Bought:
Le Samourai ($22, not from DVD Planet, because their shopping cart wasn't working) American Splendor ($8)
I'm not 100% certain about American Splendor. It seemed like a good price, and it looked like an interesting movie, but is it a good movie?

I love American Spledor, but I'm a huge comic book fan, so you should ask someone else.
