Well now I'm HAPPY! I just ordered Fanny and Alexander (Special Edition Five-Disc Set) - Criterion Collection (1983) for just $29.99 at Amazon.com, can you believe this price, this is truly a bargain and a perfect Christmas present for myself!

That is the best purchase anyone could ever make. I cannot wait for your thoughts on the film!! And yes, that is such a good price. Over in the "Store Coupons/Bargains" in the "General" board I posted what sets Amazon has on sale, very great prices. They are all 50% off.

Hey, I've seen both the theatrical and the TV-series version, every Christmas they send it on Norwegian TV but I've never seen the bonus material before and the box looks delicious. Fanny Och Alexander is one of my favorite films, it's in my yop 20 at #12 or #13. My favorite Bergman as well.

Cool, imprint is quite good, I need a rewatch. Its a little cheesy but I liked the atmosphere and it is gross in parts.
American Splendor - Really innovative little film. Giamatti is superb and is becoming one of my fave actors. The film does drag on a bit though yet its still at least and 8/10

You picked up some great stuff there, slapshot. Heh, thanks. Honestly though, they were all blind buys. I haven't seen any of them. I only knew that I was going to get Clerks II for sure but then I saw the Rocky CE that was just released yesterday so I picked it up because I haven't seen it before. I got Army of Darkness because I needed to complete the Evil Dead trilogy. I picked up Big Trouble In Little China because I saw a trailer for it recently (can't remember where exactly) but it looked fun (and it's from Carpenter) so I figured I'd get it. I got Masters of Horror: Imprint because I've been wanting to see it. Probably my blindest buy though was Schindler's List. I've never seen it and was just looking around for one last DVD to buy and it was right in front of me. I'd been reading about it recently for some unknown reason so I just picked it up. I'm really eager to see it.

Normally, I don't bother mentioning what DVDs I've borrowed from the library. But this time, it seemed noteworthy.
Just look to see why:
Taegukgi - Korean Ghost in the Shell - Japanese Persona - Swedish Being John Malkovich - English
Found at the library: Solyaris - Russian Beijing Bicycle - Chinese
Thought that was kind of nifty how I picked up movies in so many languages (most I'm not even competent in). I don't normally mind anime dubbing, though, so I'll be watching the Ghost in the Shell movie in English, but besides that.

The Ghost in the Shell dub is terrible. Watch the subtitled version.

I'll keep that in mind, thanks. The dubbing for the two gigs weren't that bad, although I can imagine that since the characters look different, that the voice acting might also be different.

Firefly - $20Checked out the first episode, and found it to be very worthwhile. Oh, and they just randomly dropped the price from $24.99 to $19.99, which pleased me greatly. Robot Chicken - $970% off. I don't have much of an opinion on the show. At first, I didn't really care for it, but recently, it's been warming up to me. edit: This is Season 1. I don't know when they'll be releasing Season 2.
