Amazing, just amazing! That boxset should set you back a month of watching, it is probably top 5 DVD's I own. So many great films featured in there. And 39 Steps is so much fun, and that Criterion release is very nice. Enjoy.

(another dvd of the film, though. Didn't find a picture) (The Tin Drum (didn't find a better pcture, but this is how the dvd looks like) (Yet again, I have a different dvd version, a norwegian one) (Yet again, another dvd version) (not the criterion version, though. ) And the best part, maybe: I've only seen Bande à part and Shogun Assassin out of all these.

I apologize to everyone in advance for this post. Why? Because I am about to thoroughly beat this thread... in the video game sense. As in, getting to the last boss and then just kicking ass and taking names. So, I mean, you can still keep this thread going if you want to, but what's the point? How will you top this post? (Bolded ones are unexpected, but somehow amazing, finds of pure victory. Prepare yourself for a boner.) [/i]: [li]Almost Famous ($4) [/li][li] Being John Malkovich ($4)[/li][li]Dawn of the Dead (Divimax one disc edition, $4) [/li][li]From Hell ( OOP? two disc edition, $0) [/li][li]Gangs of New York (two discs, $4) [/li][li] Night of the Living Dead (Millennium edition, $10)[/li][li]Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow ( $0) [/li][li] The Life Aquatic (one disc CC, unfortunately, $5)[/li][/ul] [/b], Chungking Express, and Riget were the only ones I put on reserve, all of the other ones were just sitting there (at two libraries), waiting for me to come by and be like [/i]y halo thar or whatever accent kids use these days: [li]8 ½ (VHS) [/li][li]Andrei Rublev (CC)[/b] [/li][li]Chungking Express [/li][li]Dogville [/li][li]Häxen (CC)[/b] [/li][li]High And Low (CC)[/b] [/li][li]Naked (CC)[/b] [/li][li]Riget (complete set) [/li][li]Samurai Rebellion (CC) [/li][li]Tokyo Story (CC)[/b] [/li][/ul] Now as I implied earlier, you might not be completely satisified with every item on this list. But you must admit: holyshitload of Criterions. That directly means I'm going to be away from this forum for a while, until I can get through all of these movies. Hiatus time. Be back later.

Don't Look Now - Special Edition [1973] Bought for only £6.99 at Play.com. I just had to have it, it's one of my top 20 favorite films given the SP treatment. ...and while I was at it, I got myself The Last Waltz [1978] by Scorsese. The Band plays great music. ;D

Oldboy = and Escape From New York is unbelievably cheesy and outdated...and therefore an incredibly fun watch

Yeah. Escape from New York is so much fun, an it has this incredibly appetiting charm. I guess nostalgia also has something to say here... And Kurt Russel is just so damn... cool. Too macho, yes, but it fucking works!

And Kurt Russel is just so damn... cool. Too macho, yes, but it fucking works! don't forget Lee Van Cleef. I mean, by then he was up there in years and Commissioner Hauk couldn't hold a candle to Angel Eyes in terms of badass-ness, but still badass.

Nice picks Beef, I want to see black dahlia, has some faults but its apparently quite good. Brother isn't bad, not the best Kitano but watchable. I loved spring, summer.. Its a gorgeous film, stunning visuals, wise and wonderful message and great silence. I spent a fair bit on dvds today, heres what I picked up: Family Guy season 3 Family Guy season 5 (actually the second half of season 4, a marketing scam!) Killers Kiss (early Kubrick seems intriguing) Buffalo 66 The Wild Bunch Dog Day Afternoon True Romance, love this, very fun and cool. My buy of the day!.... I got this for just £15. Total bargain, I'm very pleased!
