DMB tomorrow night with Toots and the Maytals. Many know them as the reggae artists who perform "Pressure Drop."

Seek Up * You Might Die Trying * Hunger For The Great Light * #27 * Don’t Drink the Water * Corn Bread * The Idea Of You * Anyone Seen The Bridge * Too Much * Sister + Grey Street * Louisiana Bayou * Shotgun * Sweet Up and Down * Crush * Stay (Wasting Time) * __________________ Some Devil ~ American Baby Intro * All Along The Watchtower *
One of the worst DMB concerts I have ever been to, yet still among the top ten concerts I've seen. Between getting beer and daiquiri thrown on me and making out with the drunk 20+ year old girl next to me, I missed most of Toots and the Maytals. But they were decent. DMB was awesome as usual, high energy and very tight musically. Can't wait to see them again on the 20th.

man, i love toots and the maytals! you are lucky you got to see them.
i went to warped tour again, on the 8th. it was sooo much fucking better. i saw: as i lay dying, bad religion, parkway drive, drop dead, gorgeous, chiodos, killswitch engage, coheed and cambria, paramore, big d, and soo many more. it was awesome. i got a free autographed parkway drive shirt from the lead singer, and i bought a sweet drop dead, gorgeous shirt. i don't think i have had that much fun in a long-ass time.

Thats awesome! I now have to sum up my experiences of the v festival. Well, the Saturday, as i've mentioned, I couldn't go today due to sleeping disruptions...see coolest thing thread So after much walking around and locating each stage, it was hard We first saw the proclaimers. Known for that I would walk 500 miles song. Suffice to say we didn't watch for long and decided to go on more walking. This walking turned out to be a food trip because we then ended up back at the same stage sometime later to watch the editors play, who were pretty good. After seeing them we meandered more and I think ended up seeing the fray afterwards on the 2nd biggest stage. They were basically a bore and the sound engineerings was horrible. Loud piano and for most of the set you couldn't here the singers voice. Only good song here, as I basically expected was how to save a life. Well done. My memory gets a little sketchy after this point so my recollections now may not be in order. We headed back to the main stage but got sidetracked by more food and ended up at the main stage. Kanye West was playing and it sounded horrible so we distanced ourselves from this horrible bass terrific noise to eat more. Going back to the other bigger stage we watched most of the babyshambles set. This was alright but grew a bit boring mid way. I hate the lead singer Pete Doherty, does he get much press in the US? Though he does have a good sort of stage presence. Got a few good pics here. Infact I have some alright pics of most of the noteworthy acts, I shall likely post these pics at some point. Next and first surprise of the day was Pink on the main stage. We came in a little way through her set and the first song we heard was some Janis Joplin cover which i don't remember the name of. Then though, which was the first truly great thing of the day, she covered the 4 non blondes song whats up. This has become one of my favourite songs so it was great. She covered it great and it felt emotional to have the entire crowd of probaby nearly 20,000 singing it. (An emotional song for me because it was a favourite of my ex girlfriend who committed suicide) Then she played I'm not here for your entertainment then get the party started which are both listenable songs. We felt that they day was picking up after seeeing this and it was getting closer to the foo fighters. Then a problem struck. The problem was that we realised we now had around 4 hours before foo fighters began playing and we actually hadn't even heard of well, basically any of the acts on all the stages before this. They all seemed to be r+b, drum and bass, dance style acts which I have zero interest in. These hours were basically spent queuing to piss and walking around aimlessly. Anything to avoid hearing anything of snow patrol, who proceeded foo fighters onthe main stage. Ok, now i'm going to get to what is easiest the finest moment of the long day. I was tired, slightly needed a piss and it had began to rain. No way was I giving up the rather good spot me and my brother had gotten to watch the foos. It seeme dlike forever before they came on but the big screens entertained us with text messages people had sent in and guns and roses videos So finally at about 9:30 Dave Grohl came onto the stage with a spotlight on him. A really amazing moment, I'd wanted to just be here to see him He said his greetings and then said, I'ma start off with something I think y'all might like (see how I'm making the dialogue authentic ;D) So the first song played was everlong and for 3/4 of the song it was kept just Dave and his guitar, none of the drum and bass. This was fantastic and it was great to have the crowd singing the words, When I sing along with you If everything could ever feel this real forever If anything could ever be this good again. What a great moment and a good song to open with. Second song was monkeywrench which was also great and everything stopped and wen't quiet when Dave sang the 'one last thing before I quite' part of the song. The excitement factor was immense after this, the crowd were loving it Okay, from here on I'll note the rest of the set list, not entirely in order but mostly right I think: Pretender, the new single My hero (fuck, this was a good crowd singalong!) Another song off the new album called cheer up boys, your makeup is running. All my life walking after you Times like these stacked actors encore: In your honor (Dave proclaimed, 'I liked singing this one', before he started! He also said he thought he heard some techno in the background so we had to sing extra loud to drown that crap out ;D DOA There were probably 4 more songs, including another one in the encore but I don't know the names of them, from their first album. So that is about it. Foo Fighters were amazing. End.

Ok, went to see DMB again last night in the pouring rain. It was certainly an interesting experience. First of all, Blossom is one of the worst run venues I have EVER been to. DMB draws between 20-30,00 people per show, so you have to figure that is about 7-10,000 vehicles. And the only road going INTO the Music Center is ONE FUCKING LANE! And they couldn't possibly waste police force to unclog the road and open another lane. So long story short, after leaving at 4:00 to get to the venue (which is about an hour and a half away), I was 10 miles from Blossom at about 6:00. By 7:00, I was about 5 miles away from Blossom. By 7:30, I was at the venue (they finally used some police force to open a second lane at that point). Of course, the only available parking left was in the muddy fields (this would cause more problems later). So, I leave my mom to park, take my ticket, and run to the venue. It took me at least twenty minutes to get to the venue from the parking spot. I shuffled into my seat just as the band walked onstage.
Two Step * Dream Girl * Hunger For The Great Light * #27 * Where Are You Going Corn Bread * Crush * Eh Hee * Sister + The Idea Of You * Stand Up [For It] * Grey Street * Shotgun * Louisiana Bayou * Anyone Seen The Bridge * Too Much * Stay (Wasting Time) *
__________________ Gravedigger ~ You Might Die Trying * All Along The Watchtower *
This set has to be the single worst set I have ever seen the band do live. 5 Stand Up songs, Where Are You Going, and nothing from Under The Table and Dreaming. So I was a bit disappointed. But I still had a great time, I heard Stand Up (For It) and Eh Hee for the first time ever. Two Step, Crush, Grey Street, Too Much, and Watchtower are always fun as well. 14 repeats from my concert earlier and my EIGHTH Hunger For the Great Light in as many shows.
So, as usual, the hardest part of going to a DMB show is getting out of the parking lot. We got in the car and got in a line, a half an hour later, we haven't moved at all. Turns out that the venue people blocked off our exit so that other cars in the lots behind us could get out quicker. We left that line and went to the right, trying to get out of the venue. And we drive straight into a canyon of mud. The car gets stuck and my mom's car is a four wheel drive SUV. So, I get out of the car, stepping into the field of mud in my bare feet and start to push. Luckily, a group of college guys came and helped us get out. Some other cars were not so lucky, the tow truck could not come into the mud because the driver was afraid of getting stuck. So some people probably ended up in the mud until this morning. All because the venue people thought they needed to block off an exit. We got home around 2:30 AM, which is better than Burgettstown, when we got home at 3:30. Overall, I had a great time and can't wait for the Winter Tour.

Saw Lynyrd Skynyrd tonight at the Crawford County Fair. It was a good show if a bit gimmicky. I don't need to hear that Lynyrd Skynyrd is in town after every song. I came to see you guys, play your damn music. Don't tell me what I already know. But I had a good time nonetheless. Setlist: Travellin' Man Workin' What's Your Name That Smell Simple Man Down South Jukin' The Needle and the Spoon The Ballad of Curtis Lowe Give Me Back My Bullets Tuesday's Gone Red, White and Blue Give Me Three Steps Call Me the Breeze Sweet Home Alabama Freebird

Ahh your lucky to see Skynryd, freebird ahhhh oh god, yes. that would have been stunning! especially because they ended it with "freebird" i would have been so happy. i just got back from ozzfest and saw tons of bands. hatebreed was so amazing, their pit was nuts. and they had to have at least played a 16 song set+. i was throwing down, and fucking tackled blackmoses in it when i saw him, it was so funny/fun. then i saw some weak bands, then i saw static x, who was really good. the problem was, there was no pit area! we were in seats! so we decided to go back on the lawn for lamb of god, but the lawn was on a huge slant, with tons of mud, and 10's of thousands of people. and lamb of god got the biggest circle pit ever created going. it was fucking nuts. once i made it around once, i felt like i was going to pass out. it had to have been a mile around haha. i got knocked into tons of people with beer and it spilled all over me. then ozzy came out, and his first song was really weak, and his voice sounded bad, but boy was he just getting warmed up, after that first song he just destroyed the place. it was so great. he played "paranoid" last, and it was stunning. not to mention so many girls were flashing, which was the only way i lived through the whole concert.

holy shit, you know that eerie horror fest i talk about all the time?! well, they got what is left of the misfits to come and play after one of the days! and the only dude who isn't in the misfits (danzig), is replaced by someone from black flag, which is sweet. i can't wait!

I'm not looking forward to it that much. Danzig essentially IS the Misfits, so I'm not sure how good they'd be without him.

well, the band was started by danzig and some other guy, who will be playing. so it wasn't all danzig. not to mention, you will get to see a guy from black flag sing, which isn't as bad as it could be. i still think it will be a good show. definitely.

dez cadena, i believe. he did some vocals in 80-81, and played guitar for black flag. he worked on "damaged". now he sings and plays guitar in misfits. also, the drummer "robo" was in both bands in his career.
