" his The lyrics are perfect." The Cure – PornographySo haunting and dark, it grabbed me through the whole record and I was just sitting there. I didn’t even move during the whole album. The music was so powerful to me, but also a serious mind-fuck. It may take many listens to fully absorb everything on this. I want to call the album beautiful but I really don’t know if that can describe this. It’s just so fucking cold, and gloomy. I can’t grade it until I have listened to it more. I also read this and thought it was funny, “the reason they call it Pornography is because it is so good you could jack off to it,” which is so true. Also, the second after the last song ended, “Pornography,” the phone rang and almost gave me a heart-attack because I was so absorbed in the music, it was nuts.

" his The lyrics are perfect." Totally agree, they are the best songwriting tandem of all time behind Lennon and McCartney.

Yes, seriously. I have now listened to the CD two more times, perfect. "Indian Sunset" just still blows my mind, I can't believe I hadn't heard the full song before.

All the songs on Rubber Soul are good. There are only about 6 songs that I would ever listen to again and the rest of the songs I would never listen to again in my life. When I listened to the album; I just listened to it then took it out and I will probably never listen to it for another 20 years. Because of those results, I like the album, but just not that much. Also you forgot to grade Crash(just so you know, I got some albums to grade too, I know).

Anyway, the whole CD is an experience, I just put it on and let it play all the way through. I don't know how you could not listen to that album for another 20 years, thats insane. I didn't grade Crash since I skipped a lot of the songs because they bored me the second time. I only grade something when I listen to the whole thing. There are about 4 songs I like, the rest range from terrible to decent (in my opinion).

How do you not like songs on "Crash", that is easily one of the best albums of all time. Which songs did you find terrible??

I can't remember now, ugh, but most songs after the first four I didn't like that much. And I remember some song where he says like "i'll pick you up" or something over and over again, didn't like that song. And there was only like two good songs after the first four I think.

You have no musical taste. Listen to the record live, the songs are much better when played live. The I'll pick you up song is called "Let You Down" which is one of their worst songs, but it is nowhere near a terrible song.

This is what he thought
1. So Much To Say - fine 2. Two Step - Mindblowing 3. Crash Into Me - didn't like that much 4. Too Much - you like 5. #41 - fine (This is where you said it got bad) 6. Say Goodbye - alright 7. Drive In Drive Out - fine 8. Let You Down - terrible/very boring(this is the song you really hate! What he said was "I Let You Down") 9. Lie In Our Graves - fine 10. Cry Freedom - bad/boring 11. Tripping Billies - decent 12. Proudest Monkey - bad
Dan, you might like some stuff more or less but I new the one song you really hated.

So Much to Say segues into Too Much with a funky Zeppelin influenced bridge live. Try to pick it up. Two Step is amazing. Crash is overplayed but still a great song. #41 is absolutely mindblowing, listen to Dave hit the high note in the chorus. Not to mention the band takes it to a half hour live with an amazing middle jam by the Flecktones. Say Goodbye is beautiful, you have no soul if you don't love the song. Drive In, Drive Out is fueled by so much energy, which the band even takes higher live. I understand you not liking Let You Down, but it is not a terrible song. Lie in Our Graves is my favorite DMB song. Its just out of this world. That middle jam live is so beautiful and when the hit the climaxes over Boyd's solo, I nearly climax myself. Cry Freedom has some great lyrics and is hypnotic, but I could understand you not liking it. Once again, in no way a bad song. Tripping Billies is excellent, that guitar part in the verse is so hard to play. I will play it for you someday and show you how hard it is. Proudest Monkey is such a laid back song, a great song to take a walk to. Plus, that Tim Reynolds solo is great.
Overall, I just don't understand how anyone could not give that record a ten.

Well "Two Step" ranks among my favorite songs ever so that at least counts for something. And I am just speaking for the songs on the CD, not them played live, they are probably better live.

Well, you really dont know how they are until you have hear how they play a lot of their best songs that they dont play that often on tour anymore, like Last Stop, Halloween, The Stone, Don't Drink the Water, and the mystical Shotgun which has to be heard to be believed.

Bob Dylan – Highway 61 Revisited 10/10 I listened to this all last night and into the morning, it is just a masterpiece. I have had “Ballad of a Thin Man” playing on a loop for hours. I think it is awesome how when I finish listening to a Dylan record there is like that one song I connect with, and just can’t get enough of it. It may not stand out to most people but for some reason I just keep playing it. “You see this one-eyed midget!” I always crack a smile at the way that is delivered. And as for the rest of the album it is just perfect blend of Dylan’s vocals and his lyrics, his ability to tell stories in the length of a song, and plant the visuals in my head just through his words is astonishing. Every song is perfect, must buy for me. Yet another Dylan masterpiece.

I am leaning towards Blonde on Blonde as my personal favorite, but I think "Like a Rolling Stone" may be his best song, just not my favorite. All that I have heard has been perfect so it wouldn't bother me no matter what your favorite was.

Highway 61 Revisited is phenomenal but I might like Blood on the Tracks a little more. Am I going to get killed for that? I haven't herd all of Blonde on Blonde yet but I have heard most of it. But anyway, Blood on the Tracks was the first Dylan album I ever herd and never have I liked a band so much after my first listen. He just absolutely blew me away like no one has ever done before. The album has some of my favorite songs of all time on it: Tangled Up In Blue, Simple Twist Of Fate, Idiot Wind, You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go, Lily, Rosemary And The Jack Of Hearts, Shelter From The Storm, and Buckets of Rain. When Dan played me this album I thought I had to be listening to a greatest hits or something.

Mr. Bungle - Disco Volante 9/10
I love experimental fused crazy as hell music, and it doesn't get more disorienting then Disco Volante
Vincent Gallo - When 10/10
This is some beautiful music. He cant sing, but the style and lyrics fit so perfect he doesn't need to be able to sing to get the message across
